Doesn't it always though? "14" isn't that a bit tiny" "Depends on the viewing distance, I sit a foot away and it does me fine."^ Depends on the viewing distance.
for me the problem with HDTV is the cost . . . I bought my car for less than a cheap HDTV!
A friend got a 62" HDTV not long ago. Man, he was proud of it. The HD picture is very very good. But the picture for "standard" programming sucks. Almost unwatchable. When he flipped back and forth between an HD channel and the same channel in non-HD, it was like going from seeing with clear vision to cataracts. It bothered him so much that if a show he wants to watch isn't available in HD, he now watches it on the old 32" TV he has in another room.
His experience is the main reason why I don't have an HDTV, yet.
That must be a shitty car.for me the problem with HDTV is the cost . . . I bought my car for less than a cheap HDTV!
Only one you say? One door out of 4 isn't bad, with quality like that, why would anyone ever bother buying new? That must be a shitty car.for me the problem with HDTV is the cost . . . I bought my car for less than a cheap HDTV!
Never underestimate the wonders of a cheap car. My first was only £150. And only one of the doors fell off.

62" is a bit extreme, though. I imagine at that size you're pushing the boundaries of how good even HD can look.

My boyfriend and I are in a little predicament. His mom gave us an HDTV as a gift and we can't afford to buy any HD programming/DVDs so we only watch SD on it. It's only slightly bigger than the CRT we were using and honestly I would like to switch back to the CRT (and my boyfriend does too). But his mom will likely be pissed if we sell the TV. I feel like she shouldn't be because before Christmas she actually asked my boyfriend if he wanted an HDTV and he said no, he can't afford any HD service so it would be a waste of money. She doesn't like to listen much so she bought it anyway. What would you do?

1993 Jeep Cherokee, great condition. $1500
by no means 'shitty'
You can pick up quite a good HDTV for less than that, so I don't know where you got the idea that a cheap HDTV would cost more than that.Only one you say?
