In this feature-length special to mark her last adventure, Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor must fight for her very existence against her deadliest enemies: the Daleks, the Cybermen and her arch-nemesis, the Master.

Who is attacking a speeding bullet train on the edges of a distant galaxy? Why are seismologists going missing from 21st-century Earth? Who is defacing some of history’s most iconic paintings? Why is a Dalek trying to make contact with the Doctor? And just what hold does the mesmeric Rasputin have over Tsar Nicholas II in 1916 Russia?

The Doctor faces multiple threats - and a battle to the death.
It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for. The final (regular!) adventure of The Thirteenth Doctor and I'm not ready to see Jodie Whittaker go. While her run may have been rocky (but not nearly as bad as some naysayers around here and beyond try to make it out to be), there have been a lot of great adventures and new characters and plenty of memorable episodes. I really hope she goes out with a bang and not just because Ace is providing the Nitro-9.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be busy most of Sunday, so I probably won't be able to see it until Monday after work. No internet for me during that interim!

Wow. This is really happening, isn't it?

While the Whittaker era has certainly been a mixed one, as far as story content goes, Whittaker herself has been a great Doctor, and this era has had some great companions, plus I enjoyed Sacha Dhawan as the Master too. Be sad to see them all go, but I knew this was coming eventually. And as a bonus, we're getting Tegan and Ace back for this episode!

Again, big spoilers in that article, including one picture you might not want to see.... but it's a lot more interesting than seeing old companions chatting up mawkishly over how long it's been since they saw the Doctor. (Okay, I'm intrigued as to how Chibnall will actually make use of them, but that earlier teaser clip featuring both of them mewling over how long it was sorta stuck...)

I'm just here for Tegan (and hopefully a Jo Martin cameo).

Ok and Ace too, but mainly everyone's favourite gobby airhostess.

Still wishing all the latest news is empty hype and Whitaker regenerates into Martin proper with the reveal that the Master programmed the Matrix with that story of his. (But that's obviously not going to happen. :weep: :wah: )

Ace: Don't you like it? The Doctor gave this outfit to me a few years ago.
Tegan: I just came from a convention where I cosplayed as the Fugitive Doctor. Did I get it right?
Ace: Like the rest of ours and the rest of this set it's the same stupid hue of blue, but at least I don't have a bowl cut!
Doctor: Phew, so glad I'm back here for once. And I have big hair now. Big hair is aaaace hot and cool!!

There are no spoilers in that article and all those pictures have already been publicly released. Indeed, most are in the preview thread we have on this very forum.

At the end of that article:

“I wrote the final moments very early on,” Chibnall told DWM. “I knew exactly what they were going to be for quite a while.”

“I wrote it before I knew Russell was taking over. I had my suspicions about what was going to happen, but when I had it confirmed I said to Russell, ‘This is going to work very nicely!’ The whole story is the perfect lead-up to…” Chibnball pauses, before smiling. “… what happens next!”
Tennant confirmed? Deliberate Broadchurch reunion?

I wish it was on Saturday and not on Sunday.
On a semi-related note, I would like the show to move back to Saturdays as well. Mostly because Sunday nights are rather busy for me, while Saturdays are quiet and dull.

I wonder if this is something RTD will have a say in? I know he's a big believer in having more television on Saturday nights in general and indeed back when he lived in America one of his biggest complaints was that American TV didn't have any Saturday night programming. But I suspect BBC probably decides schedule programming without input from the showrunner.
