I prefer these black uniforms to the standard colour ones partly because, like Brannigan, they remind me of the First Contact uniforms ( my favourites ! ). Although the TNG standard uniforms are OK ( except seasons 1 and 2, yuck ! ) I always felt they were a step backwards from the TOS TWOK+ uniforms and that all department colours should be kept to the collars like with First Contact versions. The DS9/VOY versions are a step in the right direction with the coloured shoulders but not quite there. Anyway, nice manipulation - I only wish they'd actually done this !

Couldn't resist.
Was that object that Kirk is holding really in the original episode. I know it doesn't look "limp" like that but I don't remember that scene at all.
I just finished looking at all 1000+ posts from these threads, excellent work to all. I realy enjoyed them.
