Very nice! I especially like Galt in the background. Very subtle, and just the right amount of blur to blend him in with the Romans.

I would put an obedience collar on Maximus, though.

Is there a compelling reason to not just flip Kirk? I guess he'd then be staring agape at Russell Crowe instead of off-camera, but that could work.
