The Photography Thread

I think it really depends on what you want the focus to be. Is it the building, or the sunset? In the second, is it the building or the building with a more general focus on the skyline/rooftops? The second set is very interesting in terms of how you get different feelings with a slight change in perspective.

If I'm just picking favorites, I say 1a and 2b.
 
Yeah, I prefer the first ones on both sets. For the first one, ordinarily I'd prefer the second one, but as pointed out, the building on the right is rather distracting. When you narrow your focus in this case, you achieve more. Though I do find that the sunset looks better in the 2nd.

For the second set of pictures, the first one really gives a sense of mystery. The church is peeking into the picture, giving us just enough of a glimpse of it til our eye is drawn to the skyscraper. It's almost as if it's photobombing the picture.
 
Thanks for all of the feedback, everyone! I think I'll definitely go with the portrait shot in the first set. As for the second set:

This is true. I think, for now, I'll go with both shots simply because they feel so different. :techman:
