The Philips Hue and Lighting

I got a Philips Hue Bridge and lights for Christmas. All-in-all, it's a pretty slick deal, being able to control the lights in my house with Siri or manually via the various apps.

What's been really fun, though, is that I have to colored lights, a flood and the Bloom, running in my man cave. Tied into the HueTV app, movie watching is just amazing with the extra ambiance lighting.

Just thought I'd share for giggles.

I've considered something like the Hue but for my eyes the brighter the indoor lighting the better so I have "daylight" LEDS in place but none of the vendors make their controlled lighting with the bright lights.

I have HUE LED Lightstrips above and around my desk, but for the rest of my house, I installed Lutron Caseta in-wall light switches. You need a separate bridge for those, and I have the Wink 2 and the Lutron app for Alexa.

Oh, I've also changed the wake word from Alexa to Computer. :D

Sorry, no Siri here (NOT a member of The Cult of Jobs!).

I have Hue lighting in my home controlled by motion sensors for convenience, remote-control switches to select different scenes, and a number of tailored routines for automation. I have linked the hub to Alexa but I rarely use voice control as it's not reliable and too time consuming. I'm currently experimenting with audio-activated Nanoleaf light panels for mood setting. It's an expensive option, however, even more so than Hue.

O
But do you thank him for doing so?

Only if they weren’t the one to leave them on in the first time. My sons seems to have difficulty in turning lights off unless they are directed to do so.

They also have a problem with closing certain doors (back door and lounge room door) It seems that the only time they can close the back door is when I have deliberately left the back door open for the cats to come in. Of course my sons can close their own bedroom doors.
