SyFy is dumping the entire mini-series/backdoor pilot onto Sunday night without any fanfare, so it looks like this will probably be the series premiere and finale. I know a lot of people here like The Phantom and this series for better or for worse has been discussed quite a bit. So if you're willing to waste/spend four hours watching SyFy, then here's the thread for you.

Watching this right now, just into the second half. It's not bad. I actually think this guy can act. I'm still dubious about the suit and the whole isabella rossilini mind control thing but overall I am diggin this thing. If this goes to series I am there.

I'm liking the fact that other than the suit and the mind control BS there isn't a whole lot of fantastical nonsense, not like the Billy Zane movie with the laser beams and sorcery. No cheezy CGI action scenes- probably means that they couldn't afford it, but I'm actually liking the down to earth action, feels gritty and real somehow.

As I remarked in the other thread, I liked it for the most part and would enjoy seeing it continue, but if it does go to series, that costume has got to be rethought.

Maybe the series will take place a year later,and Kit with the Paramedic are married,and on the run from the brotherhood,and can't hide even from the island cave since Vandermark is now the head of the Singh brotherhood,and knows that location.

I really liked the pilot. Indeed, the only issue I had with it was that godawful suit.

I finally managed to check this out and I liked it. The suit was just plain bad though. What were they thinking? The original suit would have been fine.

Wasn't too impressed with Isabella Roselini either. Good for them for trying to get a big name, but she didn't work out.

Doesn't look like this will go to series.

I think that was obvious from the fact that they decided to air it in June. It's the month for burning off unwanted shows.

Summer is when a lot of cable series thrive on TNT and USA and FX.

SyFy dumping all four hours of The Phantom onto Sunday night with little fanfare said it all.

Thank you Jad! I really wish a Phantom story would focus on the whole family and the idea of a sister taking up the helm. Much more interesting than this crappy costume.

Did anyone have any numbers or comments on this from 'syfy' yet? Did they let it die in its four hour wad push or gasp is it returning?

You know, I was thinking this was going to suck majorly, and in the end I was somewhat entertained.

There were flaws of course, but overall I'd say it was more good than bad.

The costume is... in need of work.

There also needs to be more involved ploting than... "Saving someone new every week"

They've established a global anti-terrorist organization... use it.
