Very simple do you think the writers who wrote the series were smart, good, bad, annoying. I mean the did have quite a few writing errors from all series. I mean voyager writers kinda thew canon out the window in a way. I mean I know all series in general have that problem. But in non trek series the scripts seem to have less notable mistakes. And they are one of the reasons we have continuity errors. But they create something worth talking about. Some thing that supposed to show that humanity can be better and all that stuff. Also this includes every one who had a role in making Star Trek:
The creator, the show runners, the directors, the writers, producers

Are we talking just the original series, or all eight TV series and thirteen movies? 'Cause that's more fifty years of different writers . . . .

When Star Trek is good, it seems like nothing is better. When Star Trek is bad, it's still pretty good, like yesterday's pizza from the fridge.

The franchise has been greatly supported by its many awesome music scores and visual fx over the years, and by actors we like. The writers are just one part of it.

Ehh I should have made it more specific. Just them all in general. Although I think we can all agree that sometimes those writers sucked.

And sometimes they were great, and sometimes they were okay, and sometimes they disappointed. And sometimes the same writer who writes a great episode can drop the ball next time. It happens.

But, honestly, there is no "they" here. We're talking about dozens, if not hundreds, of different individuals, on different shows, written in different eras for different audiences. We can't make sweeping generalizations about fifty-plus years worth of writers working on eight different shows. Heck, none of the writers on TOS are now writing for DISCO. We're talking completely different sets of people.

Not really sure what you're trying to assert here: that all STAR TREK shows are badly-written?

Ok find I guess make a response or paragraph for each show or era if you want. And by they way I’ve seen better written shows. Nu battlestar galatica comes to mind but yet I still love star trek

Where was the good writing in NuBSG? Was it when the characters personality was determined by his/her hair? The character turning out to be a Cylon, despite being older than the Cylons themselves? Was it when "the plan" they insisted was a thing in literally every episode turned out not to exist? Maybe it was the ending where they shrugged and said "God did it"?

No, it had good acting, good production values, and a pretty good imitation of the style of popular TV at the time, but the writing was consistently terrible.

Y'know, I personally find your desperate attempts at becoming TrekBBS.com's resident Society Gadfly with this spam-tsunami of inane question threads singularly irritating.

If you have an issue with it, report it. Don't insult the poster in the thread.
