The Other Contender For The 12th Doctor...

I do hope Ben Daniels will get the chance to play The Doctor after him.
I think part of the reason Daniels was so open and magnanimous about it in this interview was to show the BBC that he'd jump at the chance given the opportunity to play #13.

"Keep me in mind, guys! Plus, look! I'm ginger!"

Oh man, I think I would have preferred Daniels. :(

Still, at least we don't have a female doctor or another teenager jumping around the tarids all the time.
How can you sum up what was obviously a multifaceted and multilayered performance in such a simplistic way? Are you watching the same show I am? Because what I see with Matt Smith's Doctor is someone playful, dark, exhausted, emotional, clever, funny, experienced, protective....all at once.

To characterize him as a "jumping teenager" is just patently incorrect. And incomplete.

Dark? I've seen episodes of Coronation Street that were darker than Matt Smiths doctor. I've seen more emotional episodes of Eastenders than Matt Smiths Doctor. The only exhausted things about Matt Smiths doctor is the writing and the overused style Smith plays his doctor in. Smith doesn't give me any hints of being experience at all either. Playful, funny, clever and protective, I'd give you those, but where on Earth are people seeing the dark side to Smiths doctor from? Matt Smith's the furthest away from dark we've ever had in a doctor.

I don't believe a word that comes out Moffat's mouth. He's a good writer, but part of the showbiz machine.
He's not obligated to tell us anything. We're not entitled to a blow by blow description of every process the show goes through in casting, writing or any other aspect of production. Moffat and anyone else involved with creating art or entertainment are well within their rights to use any technique at their disposal to keep things secret. Including false information.

He's allowed to say anything, it just makes interviews with Doctor Who showrunners more boring than ones with other showrunners, such as Vince Gilligan.

There are only so many times you can hear "It's going to be a game-changer!" or "It's going to be big and bonkers!" before you start to zone out.

But Tennant was more of a teenager than Smith! (especially series 2)

Matt Smith.

Matt Smith is just over a year older than I am and I turned thirty two weeks ago, he and by extension myself are no way near still being teenagers. Hell, we would have stopped being teenagers when you turned what? four? five?

He acts like a teenager.

Which I guess is your opinion, but the thing is, your opinion is wrong.

Which is different thing than keeping the casting choices or plot development under wraps.

Oh it's not just PR guff that that occurs, people talking absolute bollocks, claiming they know what they're on about when clearly don't does it to me every time.
