I so strenuously disagree...but I like Kelly and any episode where she's the focus I'm all for, so what do I know?
Well, when you put it that way, it's not so bad. In all seriousness, while the astrology episode was stupid, it's actually not on the bottom of the list for me. In all honesty, Primal Urges was the one I was least endeared with.
I'm not sure I get what Bortus sees in Klyden - such a judgmental and narrow SOB, and next to Bortus that's saying something. Or maybe it's not Klyden.
This was great. It was the least the show's trappings got in the way of just having an enjoyable viewing experience I honestly don't think that their marriage has longevity. Between the Topa thing, & now this, we're clearly meant to think Bortus is much more open-minded than Klyden, & most Moclans in general. I liked the shit out of that ending when she serves up some cold shoulder to Klyden. No pretty ribbons tying this episode up.
A straight Mochlun? What a disgusting notion. It was alright but I’m getting a bit bored of all the Mochlun stuff. I get it. They’re us now. No need to hammer it in. Anyone else notice the Enterprise reference?
You know, this is the second week in a row where these writers took a kind of story that modern Trek tried but failed to do well because of their restrictions on format and character behavior - and for the second time, The Orville knocked it out of the park.
Yep. This show has apparently been eating its Wheaties, or something. While this wasn't as great as the last episode, it was still really solid, and well above Orville's "eh, that was ok" established standard. Though if it wasn't supposed to be obvious the guy had faked his own death about ten minutes before the show revealed it ... yeah, it was.
And we knew that Klingons were dim one-note Vikings, but they were surprisingly popular. The aliens on this show present somewhat more complicated issues for the Union than they generally do on Trek. The Krill, Moclans...can't wait to see Isaac's world.
Yeah, I noted the Trek/"Enterprise" reference too, made me smile. The Moclam episodes are interesting but, yeah, their judgmental society is getting to be a bit much to cope with, and it really is becoming more and more a question of what Bortus "sees" in Klyden and Bortus is obviously more open minded than most of his fellow species. Hell, Bortus was more "evolved" in the past considering he didn't immediately turn in this engineer guy when he found out about his proclivities. Klyden figures it out and immediately decides to turn the guy in?! I liked the play-back feature in the [holodeck]. I still don't really "feel" Talia. I think the makeup on her is also a bit harsh (as in, like, the actual makeup adding color to her skin and eyes, not the latex prosthetics that give her the Xelayan appearance.) The foundation and eye liner just seems strong. It really seems like Ed, as Captain, could have done or said something to Kelly's Ex-Beau considering he was pretty much harassing her on the ship when she broke up. But, I really liked that episode and, for me, The Orville is batting almost 1.000 for the season. Yeah, Klyden needs to go or something, he's getting to be a bit of a nuisance. Come on man, can you just.... For one episode? It's always got to come down to bashing on Trek for you, doesn't it?
