I got a Sony Ericson K750i. Got a decent 2mp camera and MP3 player which I no longer use as I felt that an actual MP3 would've suited better. Had the phone for years and have come to realise that as I don't make that many calls or text at all I'd be better off with just a phone that is what it's supposed to be - just a phone.
Call me an old fogie if you like, (I'm only 28) , but I've come to realise that phones these days have got way too much stuff on them when all you need to do is speak to someone or text someone.

Well..... I am quite sure that you can go without a data plan with Fido, because my iPhone doesn't have a data plan, and Fido is my provider. I have wifi at home, wifi at work, asked around if it was possible to skip the data package, was told it was, and so I told Fido I did not want a data package.
My Blackberry does have a data plan, it is my phone I use for work, and I almost never use any of the functions that require a data package outside of a wifi zone. I do not know if you can go without a data package with a Blackberry, but I have been meaning to see if I can squirm out of that part of my contract--it'd probably be worth it to pay whatever cancellation penalty, I'm thinking.
I have an iPhone and I have no complaints about it whatsoever. I get to watch movies on it (like ST III which is finishing up the end credits right now. 
I have a Nokia music Xpress 5310 in black with red highlights.
The main reason I bought it - it's about that size of a credit card. Very slim, light, and can sit in my pocket without my noticing.
I can put 2GB of music in there - more than enough for my needs. Also the memory card is interchangeable so I can carry more music if needed. The quality of sound is equal to the ipod, if not better, in my opinion.
The hardware is very durable and attractive - no scratches so far, although it's been in constant use about a year now. I've also found Nokia software more intuitive and user friendly.
I'm quite happy with the quality of the 2 mega pixel camera. I wouldn't mind 5 or more, but I've had to sacrifice a more powerful camera in order to have a smaller, lighter phone. If I could add one thing to my phone - it would be an ultra powerful 12mp camera.
It has a radio (use it quite often), stereo bluetooth, mp3 dedicated buttons on the side of the face.
I can access the internet - I usually pop into Facebook, and Youtube. It does a lot considering it's size.
I'm going to be quite sorry when it fails. I've had more powerful phones in the past, but this one suits my personal needs perfectly.

I'd like to get an iPhone 3GS but there's no way I'd pay full price for a speed bump and magnetometer. I have a little over a year left in my contract so I'll just upgrade it then. I'm quite content with sticking to the 3.0 OS upgrade coming out Wednesday!

I feel exactly the same.
I have two phones. The Nokia 6500 Classic (Black) for everyday use, because it's very slim, very stylish and I love Nokia's Series40 interface, it does all that it needs to do very well. It has a 2mp camera with LED flash, can play mp3's, has 1Gb of internal storage memory and it's so light I can't even feel it in my pocket, so it's a winner for me.
The other phone is a Nokia N95. It does everything. GPS, Wi-Fi, 5mp camera with Carl Zeiss optics, it's a double-slider with dedicated mp3 keys, it runs QuickOffice, has a powerful e-mail client, etc. etc. Unfortunately it doesn't make coffee, otherwise I would have already married it. Because let's face it, try as I may, I can't live without a Symbian phone.
My next one, oh, my next one... I am already drooling at the thought. My next one, and I never thought I'd see myself writing this, is going to be a Sony-Ericsson. The Satio, to be precise. Could it be more perfect? Finally. I've waited for years for a phone like this... and it's only 13mm thick.
