The Office: Customer Survey

The annual customer survey holds shocking news for Dwight and Jim, and Jim and Pam make the most of their Bluetooth-enabled phones. Angela and Andy make an unusual choice for a wedding location.

This sounds like an interesting episode

Was that Harry from Mad Men talking to Pam?

"Dwight get out of my Nook!"
'That's what she said, that's what she said!"

I was SO sure Ryan had convinced Kelly to give Dwight and Jim bad reviews in order to advance in the company again. I'm disappointed that wasn't what happened.

I may regret asking this, but would someone explain "That's what she said" to me? I only started watching last season, and I know it's something Michael says frequently, but I don't get the context. Or rather, I think I might get the context, but I'd like to be sure.

I hate Angela more with each passing week. She is being so cruel to Andy.

Jim & Pam's bluetooth adventures was really fun, and heart-tugging at the end there. I don't trust Alex's motives at all, though. He knows Pam has a fiancée, and he should just lay off trying to put a wedge between them. I swear, if the writers mess up Jim and Pam, I'm done with this show. For ONCE, just ONCE I want to see a TV couple that should work out ACTUALLY work out. I'm tired of investing in relationships and having the writers blow them up in my face.

Indeed.
thought the Angela/Dwight/Andy thing is pretty funny . . . but yeah, don't mess with Jim and Pam

I tried to record this episode last night only to find that my 14yr old VCR has given up. Time to further delve into the 21st century and get a DVR.

I'm reading the thread and living vicariously so please keep posting! :-D

Yes it was. He's appeared before this season already.

I thought so. I never got a good enough look at him before today. They sure do look different when they're not in their Mad Men gear.

Wow, people went to one of Kelly's parties.

It's not that surprising, everyone went to her Dwali celebration in season 3.

I feel sorry for Andy...he is a pretty decent guy and is getting screwed but not in the good way.

I'm a trusting guy so I don't think Alex is out to steal Pam but is instead just a friend that is looking out for her. Not everything a guy does is directed towards having sex with a pretty lady.

It's a juvenile (but fun) joke to make when someone says unintentionally something that could be perceived as an innuendo or double entendre. It fits perfectly with Michael's sense of humor, and has apparently spread to the rest of the office. He himself inherited from David Brent of the original "Office," was was partial to the British version, "As the actress said to the Bishop."

Or, as Wikipedia explains it in an entry that's far less hilarious than I remember:

Someone else could then say "That's what she said," turning the statement into a reference to oral sex. This statement was often used by Wayne in the "Wayne's World" Saturday Night Live skits, and is also used many times on the U.S. television show The Office by Michael Scott.

Urban Dictionary's explanation is a bit more fun.

ETA: ^Got it. I wasn't wrong. Didn't know it was such a broad-reaching "thing" though.

If you have a decent connection, the full episode is available to view both on NBC.com and Hulu.com. That 21st century thing does have its perks. :techman:

Last night's episode was great. Loved Pam's giddiness at "that's what she said." Also, the whole scene between Dwight and "William M. Buttlicker" was priceless. That one had me cracking up.

You know, I enjoyed seeing Michael actually doing his job for once. And it was so sad to see him telling the staff he'd proposed to Holly. He SHOULD have done something to keep her around - not propose, but SOMETHING. :(

Wow, Kelly has a freaky laugh. It sounded so sinister and evil when she started to laugh when she was pretending to cry...freaked me out.

I just started really watching this show at the end of last season. I'm a bit upset that I've missed such a good show for so long. For this episode, I felt sorry for Jim at the end, so sad. Hopefully, it will work out for the best. Then the ending..very funny. :)

The second deleted scene wasn't that funny, but the first one was funny. I laughed as Dwight was saying that he'll retire and write his memoirs! Too funny... :)
