"The Office" characters as Starfleet officers.

Mr. Scott

Commander
Howdy!

Anyone like "The Office" (US verion on NBC), could these characters be Starfleet officers?

The U.S.S. Mifflin.

Captain Michael Scott-Someone who is so dumb that he somehow dumbfounds the alien enemy threat. Scott only became a Captain because he is a legacy and the great grandson of Captain Kirk. He has had a love affair with Capt. Janeway, who is embarrassed to be with him, but cannot resist his stupid charm. Capt. Scott does so well because he confounds his enemy with his ineptness, to the point where the opposition thinks he is crazy or kidding.

Commander Jim Halpert- Joined Starfleet because he had no other job to do, and he wanted to go to Raisa Colony once a year. Basically plays jokes on Lt. Commnader Shrute and the uptight Vulcans on the ship. Of course, he is never caught or even caught on by his subordinates, including Capt. Scott. He is very lonely though, because there is no advancement and no need to do a better job. Starfleet has Scott as a Captain, should he be a better idiot?

"I'll do this job for a few years. If Scott goes, I'll be the Captain. If I am the Captain, I will jump in front of phaser fire. Starfleet is for no one better than people who graduated from community college".

Lt. Commander Dwight Shrute-Tactical officer. Totally fearless of threats. Not scared of Kilingons, Romulans or Tribbles. Very protective of Capt. Scott. Likes to grow his beets on Gort, and was truly the one responsible for the kid that Worf supposedly killed in the soccer game as a child. Cammander Halpert likes to stick his desk in the Holosuite or place his tricorder in jello.

Lt. Commander Creed Bratton-He used to party with Yeoman Rand in the sixties( the 2160's). Likes to smuggle Romulan Ale across borders and enjoys going to DS9 once a year to cheat at Tongo with the Ferengis. Even though he is a cheater, he is likable by the Ferengi because he cheats. Odo dislikes him, but Starfleet trumps his authority.

Lt. Commander Stanley- Black man who only has six months to retirement. Resigned to his crossword puzzles. Is not scared of danger because he knows Starfleet will always win and he doesn't care. Has expressed that if any foreign force kills Capt. Scott that he is willing to give up his virginal daughter for a prize.

Lt. Darryl- Officer who is in charge of the cargo bay, who forbids Capt. Scott from the hold. He wanrn Capt. Scott, "I'm not Geordi Laforge down here. don't come here. I want a raise!"

Lt. Kevin- Head of the transporter, also plays his Police cover band with Data and the holographic doctor on weekends. Kevin's personal holosuite program is him playing the drums to Steely Dan. He tells his shipmates, "Well, yeah, the 20th Century sucked, but hey, I could of met Steely Dan, so was it so damned bad?"

Kevin is proof on how easy it is to go to Starfleet academy since the job requires such life and death in a world where there is no currency and everything is for the asking that only a full would go into space, and it is all the Dorites, cheese and M&Ms he can eat for the asking through the despensors. "Computer, give me peanut M and Ms with a glaze of cheese on top".

Lt. JG Martin- Lover of Lt. Commander Shrute, but likes Romulan men on the side.

Lt. Toby-Starfleet HR director.

Lt. Phyllis-The couselor of the ship. Who would not want to confide in her?

Ensign Pam- Helper of Phyllis, although she doesn't care for Phyllis too much and think she looks too big for her polyester Federation uniform.

Senior Chief Andy- In charge of the transporter, who inadvertently makes angry all those who comes aboard ship, plus has a longing for Deanna Troi.

The Office as Star Trek, why not?

Wasn't he captain of the Grissom in Search for Spock?

If you were gonna have 'The Office' characters as Starfleet staff, you've gotta use the original British version!

David Brent would be sooo much better as a Captain! :techman:

I thought this would fit well:

Funny thing is, the only difference I can see between Michael Scott and Captain Archer is that the other characters know that Michael is an idiot. With Archer, the other characters are made even dumber to make Archer look smart.

Any fan of the office knows that Michael's character would be called Captain Michael Scarn.

:rommie:

ENT might have worked okay as comedy. Watching Captain Michael Scott get his ass kicked by every alien from here to Ferenginar would be worth the price of admission.
