The nuEnterprise is a fungus...

And I agree with you. TMP is the ultimate version of the Enterprise. But, just for looks, I think that 1701-B almost gives her a run for her money!
I openly despised the Enterprise C when I first saw her, but the design has grown on me.

TPTB made some changes to the Enterprise E inbetween movies, there is hope for the most resent incarnation yet.

:)

I would really like to see a small redesign take place. I really think that the scaling issues with the exterior detail need to be addressed, which would lead to a final "official" size. The dorsal and pylons should be moved forward a bit and the pylons given less of a curve. That would make the exterior just bloody great IMHO.

Just a few cosmetic changes, similar to those given the E between Insurrection and Nemesis, as you say. They don't even need to be addressed in script or dialogue.

I'll agree the NuEnterprise is a grower.

But nothing will ever, ever come close to the TMP Enterprise Refit. Simply perfect. I totally believed she was real.

Scotty and Kirks flyby is the the closest you are ever going to get to Starship Porn. ;)

Agree on all that you have stated here.:)

Hmm. The Titan rising scene. Gotta admit that I completely forgot to hate the Nu'prise for that one shot. It was a shameless riff on the Mutara Nebula scene from TWOK, but damn it still worked. Even for me.

stupid fungus. get off my toes! arrrgh.

It is a fungus, one requiring treatment.

My feelings for all the Enterprise incarnations has ranged from it's OK to it's great. Now, for the first time ever I feel a design sucks. It does appear, IMO, simply 'cinematic' as opposed to 'realistic'.

That was how I always felt about the Enterprise D. That design never grew on me it is the only Enterprise model that I do not own a model of and I celebrated its destruction in Generations.

I agree insofar as the D is concerned. Never owned a model of it, never will. Only version of the Enterprise I call "it" instead of "she."
