The NuEnterprise has grown on me... like some kind of FUNGUS!

Okay, who here that was on the fence, or initially disliked the Church design has come around?
C'mon? It's okay to like it. Doesn't make you a bad Trekkie or anything...

I think we were ALL pretty iffy on it at first, at least from that original shot.
I was in the "It's gonna suck BIGTIME" camp when I saw that first picture.
Then I saw the toy out of the box at Target, and it changed my whole 'tude.
Then I saw the flick.
Now I can't wait for the model.:techman:

I still think the part of the nacelle that connects to the struts looks a little oversized, but overall the design has definitely grown on me.

I like it a lot more than I did at first sight. Didn't hate it then, but was a bit put off by the secondary hull and the neck.

Oddy enough the nacelles never really bothered me, though I wish they'd have gone with red/orange collector domes.

I like it, though it does remain my least favorite of the TOS/Refit/Nu combo. I just have a few notes. ;)

Yeah, the nacelles never really bothered me either. What really bumps it down to the bottom of my list of Kirk Enterprises is that tiny engineering hull. It's like putting the front end from a motorcycle onto a big muscle car.

I'm still mostly indifferent to it. I don't like the size of it, or the way the the nacelles/pylons are attached to the seconday hull, but overall it's OK, I guess.

I just wish they had made it look like the TOS ship with some minor, very minor, tweaks.

Of all of the things to change this is one I don't see the need for.

And like all fungus, it's insidious and stubborn. It grows out of control to where, no matter how many times you try and get rid of it, it still shoes up. It also has the tenacious habit of killing you when you least expect it.

...Or some such.

The first time I saw it was with music in the movie. And I can tell you, with music is amazing. That may have been some individuals' problem; no music.

I was a bit put off by it at first too. For the same reason as some of you. that odd shaped secondary hull. But i got the playmates ship and put it in my living room. I gata say. I'm liking it now. I really cant wait for the model. I think shes a fine looking ship now. I remember how I felt when I first saw the D. But I gata say shes one of my faves now.

I don't mind the new "swoopy" stardrive section but the saucer should have been styled more in accordance to that rather than a direct rip of the TMP saucer. That, and the damned curved warp engine pylons!!!

I think it kind of fits into the Star Trek universe- It's not the Enterprise, it's a "re-imagining" (not my words) of the Enterprise in a movie that was a "re-imagining" Star Trek...

It's grown on me a little as a starship design. Size issues aside (and I'm in the smaller ship camp), and comical looking nacelles, engineering (shit- on the Kelvin, people repelled on freaking ropes!!! WTF?), and bridge, I kind of like the ship...

Yes, I can rag on it, and kind of like it at the same time. And I'm still going to see the movie this up-coming week at the second run cinema... Fortunately the tickets are only $4!

I like her but I don't "like" like her. I like her as a friend only...we'll never be serious. She's the TOS Enterprise's slutty stepdaughter.
