Actor/stuntman Bob Herron passed away at the age of 97. He was the oldest person on the list. Sadly he was the second one from the list to pass away in the last 5 days. Rest in peace.

Actor John arndt has passed away at the age of 93. He appeared in five episodes at least and although his parts were never big he and the other recurring background actors made the series seem more real.

He looked old in the 60's. Awesome how they killed him off and just brought him back as a new character. I never noticed.
He was 37 during the first season which comprised all of his appearances. And you're right he did look pretty old back then. But he spent most of his time as a basketball coach believe it or not. I don't know too many college basketball coaches that are part-time actors. And it seems like he never capitalized on is Star Trek notoriety. He had a pretty distinctive face if he would have showed up at a Star Trek convention I am sure some people would have recognized him.
