Apparently "The Next Doctor" is in 5.1. I remember hearing that previous vanilla releases didn't have 5.1 mixes, but I could be mistaken about that.

I thought the vast majority of fans despised the FOX TV Movie and decided to excise it from continuity? I remember watching it when it originally aired but I haven't seen it since so I don't remember how good/bad it was.

I thought the TV movie had a lot of potential as a possible pilot for a new series. Having said that, the story wasn't spectacular.

I do like the eighth Doctor's revelation to Grace that he's half-human. It would be fun if the new series could explore this somewhat, as well as the Doctor being more than a Time Lord, as was hinted in the final seasons of the original series.
