The Next Companion(Potential Spoilers)

Wouldn't it? When he gets too snarky, all Eleven has to do is close the box. And there's very little chance of Dorium wandering off.
That'd be a change, LOL :bolian:

Maybe the Doctor can build him a robotic body! :)
would that be a robot body that looks exactly like his old body, and apart from a few times in the series, there will be nothing to suggest to the casual viewer, that its not a real flesh and blood body?

I still vote for Dalek Caan, even if he's (she's?) confined to the TARDIS. Have the lovable loony gibber and giggle in a corner somewhere, having brief moments of lucidity to advise or warn the Doctor about something, and occasionally trying to sneak out the police box, covering his casing in hundreds of slips of "psychic paper" believing the sheets will make the "natives" assume he's no one special.

Not as a primary companion, but filling a position similar to that of K-9.

Sincerely,

Bill

If the companion doesn't wander off, Doctor Who loses 98% of the potential plot developments. :cardie:

In any case, it'll be a young woman from modern-day UK. Can't mess with the formula.

For some reason I'd like Michelle Dockery (Downton Abby) to play a regenerated Romana :) Actually what I'd really love to see, but really doubt would happen is the return of Michelle Ryan as Lady Christina!

India Fisher as an Edwardian Adventuress.

I'm just waiting for the rules.

The new rules for humans in the TARDIS.

No Fucking.

None whatsoever.

"Your children will turn into mutant gods, evil empires will conspire to to kidnap and warp into psychopaths'.

Jo "Jones" lamented in the Sarah Jane Adventures felt remiss that she didn't realise that she was allowed to take her husband with her in her adventures through time and space with the Doctor...

Her children could have had time heads too, first!

I mean, it's like Jo and three never had a secret affair that parading around that new bloke of hers would have been awkward much as he's scolded about not wearing a shirt shirt to the TARDIS breakfast table?

The old Doctor Who doesn't count, as it bears little resemblance to the new incarnation. The companion serves as the audience's proxy for asking questions about The Doctor, and will thus be familiar and relatable.

You're more than welcome, I did that years ago!

So, The Stig, what you're saying is that modern, supposedly sophisticated audiences no longer have the imagination to empathise with a Highlander or a warrior woman or someone from Traken or from the 51st Century like Jack or River and...oops!

but as a high profile fashion model it's most likely where she wound up?

Where does Craig live?

Amy was in his local department store... but that couldhave been part of the product launch?

Touring?

not sure where Craig comes from. I dont recall anything in either episode that suggested it was London.

In fairness I made that pre-Amy, and she's still from modern day Earth :)
what about Kazran & Abigai, they are as much companions as Craig, and are not even from Earth.

Madge Arwell was from London, so if she counts as a companion or not, does not matter at the moment.

Of course if we are counting those companions, you can also have Jack as a non Earth companion. Same for Astrid Perth

So 11 actually has 3 companions from the modern day (but not London) Amy, Rory & Craig.

The Arwells were from early WW2 era London.

Whilst he has two none Earth companions Kazran & Abigail.

How are we counting River Song?

As always it depends on the definition of companion, so this could run and run :)
true of course, but if you only count Rory, Amy & River as companions, then you can say that none of 11s companions are from London, and only two from the modern day.

Eleven still has a small number of people who could be considered companions, so it wouldn't run that far.

Heck I may have been to liberal in calling Craig a companion, but there is no question Kazran & Abigail can be viewed as companions, as they had many trips in the TARDIS and adventures with the Doctor.

I guess it would depend on where(or perhaps when River was conceived in the Tardis. That could really be anywhere or time, but sometime after series five I'm guessing?

River Song was conceived in the time vortex, on Amy and Rorys wedding night, so its quiet possible to say she was conceived no where and no when.

Talking of 11s companions, im going to do it like this

A List Companions - Amy, Rory, Kazran, Abigail and River

B List Companions - Craig, The Arwells, Sarah Jane, Jo Grant, Clyde Langer & Rani.

Rory, Amy and River are the 11th's only companions. the rest either fail to travel in the TARDIS or fail to reappear more than once.
