The New USS Discovery....

It could just be some random ship that has nothing to do with anything and they just put it in there to mess with our heads. That's what I would do if I was in charge of DSC.

Yes, I get all my spoilers from random blogs that are just regurgitating fan theories.
And once one blog posts a random idea it seems everyone else reposts it or links to it...........next thing you know the fanboy rage goes WILD. #faketreknews

I really can't imagine that they would include the "old" abandoned Discovery design in the same promo video where they reveal their fresh new Discovery design wire frame.
I mean; they show a full screen shot of it.

...Is that the original NCC-1031 in those printouts, or a refined version already? The colors are different for all the lit parts, after all: amber rather than blue for the impulse engines, whitish rather than red for ramscoops, white and blue for nacelles rather than blue and white. Or is this an even older version?

I can't hardly tell what's what in those little pictures, but that one looks like a big hangar door open on the back.
I hadn't noticed that before.

The wireframe may not actually even be a ship. I mean, not a ship that's been built. It could simply be something on the drawing board that perpetuates the story.

What the sneak peek ship has there is not completely clear from the video. There are structural frames criscrossing the opening - perhaps it's a wide shuttlebay door made of an upper and a lower half? But perhaps it's a series of trapezoid impulse nozzles instead, and the glow will be seen later on?

If that detail is retained, I'd be very surprised if it's not a shuttlebay door. The ship needs that somewhere, for the classic Trek adventures. But compare the colors above with the glowing bits in the little pictures a few posts up, and observe the color difference.

How old do you think the USS Discovery will be at the start of the series? Will it be a brand new ship freshly launched, or a more experienced ship? For what it's worth, the low registry number suggests it could be a pretty old ship already by the 2250s, but we all know registry numbers can be misleading (especially when chosen to fit something specific like a birth date or a space shuttle registry number). As for the design of the ship, it can also be misleading as it's part of a reinterpretation of known canon, so I guess anything goes.

No I am not at liberty to give one even tiny detail for you further...

YOU CAN ALL RELAX NOW. A few of us through some means or other have seen what will be the final on-screen look of the U.S.S. Discovery.

THE SHIP IN LAST JULY'S TEST IS NOT AT ALL THE FINAL LOOK OF THE SHIP THAT WILL BE IN THE COMPLETED EPISODES.

The same broad overall concept and basic ideas, but much more balanced and matured from the quick early concept seen last year.

Basically, the "real" ship looks about as much like last year's test as Probert's very early sketches look
like the final Enteprise-D.

So yall can CALM DOWN ABOUT THE SHIP NOW.
