The new unis kind of remind me of...

(sorry, I didn't think I could put the whole though into the title).

But, in seeing the uniforms in the movie last night, the standard Enterprise duty uniforms definitely reminded me of the uniforms that were worn by Nimoy, Shatner and Grace Lee Whitney in some promo stills taken between WNMHGB and "The Corbomite Maneuver" (I always regarded them as "transitional" uniforms).

I don't have any pics handy, but they're the ones where they're sometimes holding giant flashlights with colored lenses and things.

But, when you see Nimoy and Shatner in those pics, those tunics seem a lot like the new movie's tunics: smaller insignia, more prominent collar, braid style.

What do you all think?

Eh... a bit. If they had avoided the idiotic weave in the fabric and the overexaggerated seams, I'd be more with you on this. Also, I think seams around the armpit (instead of across the upper chest) would have made these uniforms look better. Those promo pix you mention feature that cut, whereas the series unis don't.
