"The New People" was a TV show that aired in late 1969. Does anyone remember this show? The reason I'm putting it in this forum is because it is a LOT like LOST. At the risk of revealing my age, I loved this show as a kid. It used to piss me off royally because Nixon was always pre-empting it to talk about his economic "phases".
Anyway the premise of the show was a group of college students crash on a isolated tropical island. They come up with a new society.

It says in the above article that the first ep. of The New People was written by Rod Serling, and that JJ Abrams is a fan of Rod Serling's stuff (who isn't). I don't remember a lot about the show except that it fascinated me. There were only 17 episodes. (Probably because Nixon kept running all over it.
