I don't think we've ever had a bridge where the conference room door is directly behind it.

The entrance is usually to the side.

Most of the Sovereign class vessels were named after sovereigns (Pachacuti, Gilgamesh, Hutchinson, Hrothgar, Arsinoe) but not all of them (Okuda, Valkyrie, Venture, Enterprise). So just because all the Californias were named after cities so far, doesn't mean there isn't a USS California.

I never said that was definitely the case, I was just using it to illustrate a case where a class not being named after its lead ship would make sense and wouldn't contravene anything we've seen in canon so far.

Agree, these sets look to good not to keep using after the conclusion of Picard season 3
They should spin-off Captain Rios and the rest of La Sirena's recruits, as the Stargazer's ongoing regular crew.

And make sure La Sirena (add retractable wings and engines) can dock in her shuttlebay, or attach to the hull as the Stargazer's official "runabout".

Y'all do realize that season 3 is likely based entirely on the Stargazer? I'm basing that of Terry Matsalas' tweets. If I were a betting man, season 3's ending is the jumping off point for a spin-off "Star Trek: Stargazer".

A Window or Viewer? Why not both? The U.S.S. Stargazer is outfitted with Holographic Reconstruction Generators (HRG) that create a 3D view of space/data/information and project it on the Viewer. A Blast Shield covers the opening which can become a transparent window as needed.

I wonder if that was Eaves' idea. He had the same thing for the DSC Enterprise.

Edit: Ah no, not the same idea. The DSC enterprise had a transparent screen in front of the view screen that could become opaque.
