I imagine that TOS Operation - Annihilate could have been done with a "zombie flavor"... infected colonists lurching and fighting their instincts while Kirk and friends barricade themselves against the mob... I'll say nope, they're no better than flashlights at that setting, so that gets a few redshirts killed right off.

Or it's a zombie plague that's taken over the planet and only a handful of Redshirts have survived. Until Kirk, Spock and McCoy show ofcourse. Then they get killed
