Trek XI: Spock and Sarek's moment in the transporter room, as they reflect on Amanda. Sarek says..."I married her because I loved her!"

And the tears come from me.

The Kelvin sequence, it was so sad watching George Kirk, sacrificing himself...

See, that's how James T. Kirk should have died. That was a great death scene, and, more importantly, he died for a great cause. James T. Kirk's death in "Generations" felt tacked-on and pointless.

The first time I saw "Generations", at the beginning when Kirk "briefly" takes command of the Enterprise-B and sits in the center seat, I almost thought "this is it, this will be Kirk's final moment"... but then everything went downhill. A very unsatisfying movie, that.

Data's death in Nemesis. That's the only sad Trek moment that makes me tear up.

In "The Dogs of War," the prophets tell Sisko that he would have to walk the path alone and that staying with Kasidy Yates would "bring nothing but sorrow." When he talks to her about this, Kasidy breaks down in tears and wonders "what's going to happen to us...what's going to happen to our baby?" The moment (especially the way Penny Johnson says it) is just heartbreaking.

Which tells us a great deal about the directing\acting\music of that scene to make us care about a character we knew for 12 mintues

“Acknowledged, and we’re sending you data on some new hyper-subspace technology. We’re hoping eventually to use it to keep in regular contact, and we’re including some recommended modifications for your com system.”

“We’ll implement them as soon as possible.”

“There’s someone else here who would also like to say something.”

“This is Admiral Paris.”

“Hello, sir.”

“How are you people holding up?”

“Very well, they’re an exemplariy crew, your son included.”

“Tell him…tell him I miss him, and I’m proud of him.”

“He heard you, Admiral.”

“I want you all to know we’re doing everything we can to bring you home.”

We appreciate it, sir, keep a docking bay open for us.”

Benny's breakdown in "Far Beyond the Stars"

Worst.Acting.Ever.

People say this all the time, not really realizing what it is to really have a true breakdown. If you were to see one for real, it would look like someone was actually performing one badly. A breakdown has no restraint, no regard for how "good" it seems to look to others. I think it was a brilliant, albeit, risky bit of acting. And Brooks' style is more theatrical than television, and that is reflected in his approach here. It's actually similar to Picard's breakdown in Chain of Command, Part 2.

The entire end of TWoK especially the funeral for Spock. When Kirk's voice cracks on the word human whew I lose it. It doesn't matter how many times I see it I always tear up. Hell I'm only thinking about the scene and I'm getting a little misty. LOL

Some of my saddest moments from Trek (although many have been said before):

TNG
The Inner Light, possibly the best TNG episode, the flute playing at the end is so sad

Star Trek (2009)
The Kelvin sequence, it was so sad watching George Kirk, sacrificing himself and knowing he will never see his family
I know some will disagree, but that scene is destined to be a classic Trek moment in the same category as Spock's death scene.

But I think the most I ever cried over a fictional story on TV is the end of the Doctor Who episode 'Doomsday', and no one even dies there.

Yeah, plenty get killed in that episode (for a family show, Doctor Who has an extraordinarily high body count) but I was referring to the separation of the Doctor and Rose and the subsequent scene at Bad Wolf Bay.

And, even though I know some people have problems with the episode but I freely admit I'm a softy, the ending of I, Borg when Hugh sacrifices his individuality to save the Enterprise and gives that quick farewell look to Geordi.

Miramanee's death gets me just as bad as either of these (or worse).
