Time to vote for your favorite overall based on the favorites from each season. EDIT: For newcomers, we have previously voted for our favorite episode from each season. Those episodes are in the above "final round" poll.

The poll will be open for a week to give as many people a chance to vote as possible. Comment on your favorite, but don't forget to vote!

----------------------

This is really a nice set of episodes here. But I'm going with the one that got to me the most. It was (to me) the best series finale I've ever seen: "What You Leave Behind."

Now it's your turn!

In the Pale Moonlight: perhaps it's only my second or third favorite from Season 6, but it is a towering achievement in the long Trek discourse on ethics and values. It beats virtually every ethical quandry of the previous and contemporaneous incarnations of Trek.

Probably going to be In The Pale Moonlight for me, its a big favourite of many fans and for a reason. I love Garak's character and he's at his possible best in this episode, and the general theme of it is just excellent. That said, The Wire and Duet are both impressive episodes, I only saw them recently.

The Visitor never fails to move me, one of the best examples of how Star Trek transcends science fiction to really hit home in a way that people can relate to, and DS9 especially did a great job of that imo. As for Trials and Tribbleations, a better tribute to TOS has never been made imo.

An episode where the Captain is drinking during his log and then ends it by basically saying "F**k it" is the best episode over.

I voted for the Visitor. To me it was just the most moving episode in the Trek franchise and really touched humanity on a base level... a son's love for his father.

Looks like In the Pale Moonlight is going to win, and I have no problem with that.. it's up there too. Sisko and Garak were excellent in this one and the first person narrative really carries the story.

I don't really get everyone's absolute love for In The Pale Moonlight. Sure it was a great episode and there was some good acting and plot and stuff but I don't see how it's any better than, say, The Die Is Cast
Voted for Tribbles coz tribbles.
The Wire and What You Leave Behind (the montage, the montage!) close contenders

Having revisited "In the Pale Moonlight" for the first time in years, I went for that. Such a damn good episode. Close calls for me are "Duet" and "The Visitor". On the latter, I dare anyone not to cry. The episode just flat out works.

As fun as "Trials and Tribble-ations" is, I wouldn't even include in the best of DS9. It's a tribute show, the best possible kind of tribute show, but not representative of DS9. I feel that gets included by so many just because it's TOS.

I voted for In the Pale Moonlight, too.

My biggest complaint about DS9 was that it needed more Garak. Cant have too much Garak. Pale Moonlight was just all-around epic, though.

And the big winner is "In the Pale Moonlight."

"Computer, erase that entire poll."

...didn't work.

You guys picked some great episodes for this poll. I have an idea for another way to do this poll that might be fun, but I'll give it a year or so before posting. ;) Thanks again for playing! :techman:

Thanks for taking the time to do them. Any chance of doing them for the other series?

I always forget that Garak wasn't in too many episodes. Only 33, which is a fraction of the show. Yet, he was such a big presence you'd have been fooled into believing he was in much more.

There are other series? ;)

I think it's awesome if someone wants to put a similar poll together for the other series. I hereby pass the torch. Quick, somebody pick it up before the place catches on fire.
