The Most Interesting Man in the Galaxy

Sir Rhosis

Commodore

I've seen a few posts (on Facebook and StarTrek.com, iirc) which assert that Jonathan Goldsmith, the actor famous for the "Most Interesting Man in the World" Dos Equis beer commercials, had an uncredited bit as a background crewman in "The Corbomite Maneuver."

Anybody able to confirm, perhaps with a screengrab?

Goldsmith's Wikipedia article for those not familiar with the commercials:

You might want to have a look at Neopeius' page here (roughly half-way down.) It's not a very clear screengrab, but the build and shape of the face is about right for Goldsmith/Lippe's appearance at that time.

Edit:

For comparison:

and, beginning at about 02:49 in this clip, look for Capt. Dushan (in green uniform - ep. orig. airdate 31 March 1967)

^^^ :)

I was trying to think of a Trek riff on "He once ran a marathon because it was on his way." Nothing comes to me yet.

Sir Rhosis

He can beat Spock at three-dimensional chess... by only using one dimension.

When the “Teacher” is down for maintenance, the women of Sigma Draconis VI ask him for help.

He once beat Khan Noonien Singh at arm wrestling...with his beard.

When they touch his tears, Elasian women fall madly in love with him....as do the Elasian men.

If he’s running late, the Tholians will reschedule.

His bowel movements produce sleek and refined dilithium crystals.

He convinced Chekov that Russia is a Belgian invention.

He finds Vulcan neck-pinches “a little ticklish” but otherwise quite relaxing.

When beaming down to a strange, possibly hostile new planet; he gladly wears a red shirt...to go with his red pants, red jacket, red shoes, and red fedora.

The more I look at it, the less sure I am that Neopeius' "most interesting extra" screencap is picturing the right guy. Does this blueshirt, from a later scene, look more likely?

Now A guy on FB has posted a different screencap from "Corbomite," asserting it is Goldsmith. This cap shows a redshirt piddling with one of those wall mounts as Kirk, shirtless, walks by.

Brain and brain...HE is brain.

Saw that this morning, and have looked before at the cap in question (number 072 in TrekCore's HD gallery.) I just don't think that redshirt looks very much like Goldsmith. His head-down posture doesn't help, though.
