Think 09 is the best for me.

Into Darkness is a poor follow up to the decent first Kelvin film and S31 is a dull mess.

These are legitimately the bottom three movies in the franchise.

I reluctantly vote for 09. The movie was terrible, but it DID have a great opening with the Kelvin. It just was garbage after that.

And I will give it credit for reigniting interest in the franchise again.

Vger23 voted for NEMESIS, which saved it and reset the others to 0. (In this case, only SECTION 31 since neither of the other movies had a vote.)

Vger23 did not appear to vote for one for the new round, based on the quoted post. We have seen people save an episode without voting for one in the new round in the same post before. Doesn't mean Vger23 can't vote this round... may have chosen to think longer about a vote before making one.

So as far as we know, the count is accurate at this moment.

Saving '09. Tough choice left. I can't really bring myself to vote for either of these, so I'll abstain.

This is a VERY tough choice.

On the one hand, INTO DARKNESS was atrocious, had a story and script with more holes in it than swiss cheese, and was a horrible retreading of TWOK.

On the other hand, SECTION 31 was atrocious, had a story and script that was terrible, and was a waste of Michelle Yeoh.

I look at these two in the same way as two episodes of ENT: "PRECIOUS CARGO" and "THESE ARE THE VOYAGES...". While I think "PRECIOUS CARGO" is absolutely the WORST episode of that series (to this day, I still cannot find one thing about it I can defend or find redeeming), I despise the finale far more.

I consider SECTION 31 to be the worst movie in the franchise... but I hate INTO DARKNESS more, so I will, reluctantly, cast my final vote for SECTION 31.

Why? Because the Enterprise is a STARSHIP, not the seaQuest. It was a bad start to a bad movie, and I just CANNOT get past the stupidity of that sequece.

Plus, at least SECTION 31 tried to give us something new about the Lost Era, like a younger Rachel Garrett, who despite the bad dialogue ("Chaos is my friend with benefits" is one of the most cringeworthy pieces of dialogue the franchise has ever given us), was not a bad character.

Into Darkness gets my vote. S31 was horrific and a 1-and-done for me. ID has a truly great cast, honest performances from Pine and Quinto (who did the best with the crappy script) and has some nice set pieces. It’s also a gloriously beautiful film. It’s really not good, but it’s superior to 31 in almost every dimension.
