"Counterpoint" - it's really entertaining to watch and I'm still not sure exactly when Janeway and Kashyk knew they were each being lied to by the other.

~ I love "Counterpoint" - It's one of my favourite Voyager episodes ("Eye of the Needle" is my favourite)! The chemistry between Janeway and Kashyk is tantalising and makes me wish the story could have been stretched over 2 or 3 episodes so we could see more.

Anyway, talking of chemistry, I'm saving LDS: "Cupid's Errant Arrow". Mariner going crazy over how Boimler managed to snag Barb is very funny, as are Rutherford's and Tendi's visions of how they'll be the heroes of their respective departments when they bring back T-88s. And Freeman's exasperated "Implode the moon" at the end is just perfect.

DIS Season 1: "Despite Yourself" was our first full dive into the MU in a long time, and there are some truly great moments here. Latif’s powerful portrayal of PTSD is spot on. There is some great humor with Tilly impersonating an Imperial Captain, Lorca’s Scottish accent, and Tilly’s MU nicknames. The redress of the ship and crew are also really cool. Overall, a fun and unexpected outing.

I can't defend the terrible ending, but "Magic To Make The Sanest Man Go Mad" does really have something special. Generally speaking, romance could not be said to be among Trek's strengths, but the Burnham/Tyler stuff in here is some of Trek's most romantic material. I also like doing the time loop through the POV of a fully-resetting character.

It's cheating having it as three episodes, but ENT's Azati Prime/Damage/The Forgotten is perhaps the emotional high point of the journey through the Expanse. Azati Prime has that pulsating cliffhanger, and Damage is the gripping follow-up with Archer attacking the other ship to steal supplies to let them continue.

Spoiler: Spoiler for SNW season 1 and the tie-in comic that's coming out now

I was just reading the SNW comic that bridges season 1 and 2, and in it they discuss Archer's actions in "Damage" as an instigating event that has led to the terrible Federation/Illyrian relations in the SNW era. I wonder if that will come into play on the show at all.

Also, that comic is fascinating to me, in that it picks up right from the cliffhanger and is depicting events that feel like they MUST be shown on the show, if they happened. It's from writers on the show, so if all this crazy drama can end up in the comics but also track with on-screen events, I really can't imagine what the actual season 2 premiere will be.

I was goint to save another Lower Decks ep, but @KRAD's recent ENT: "Similitude" rewatch has reminded me of how much I liked and invested myself into that episode. Archer's initial decision to clone Trip almost had me shouting at the screen, but everything after that was done well, I thought. The Young Trip actors were very good, as were the three main cast and John Billingsley as Doctor Phlox. I didn't even mind the T'Pol/Sim kiss - I thought it was rather sweet of her.

DIS Season 2: "Saints Of Imperfection" is a really trippy episode with some unique visuals and ideas. It also brings back Culber (my favorite DSC character) and allows Wilson Cruz to put forth an awesome performance (both physical and traditional). It's an interesting conclusion to the "Mae Mystery" and it has a good classic Trek heart to it.

I know it gets a bit of a bad rep...but I think DIS Season 2: "Such Sweet Sorrow, Parts 1 & 2" is a motion-picture quality finale that is likely the most epic thing the franchise has ever done on television. Is it perfect? No. Is it an awesome spectacle? Yes, absolutely. It honestly would have been "ok" if DSC had ended on this note, and transitioned directly into SNW.

It does ENT a disservice, though ENT sometimes felt more like a precusrsor to TNG than TOS - so as a result it makes a certain sense that it would tie in and herald TNG one last time. Like a bookend. Just not in the way it had. I save it because the episode is more entertaining than drek.

I love ALL of LDS, but not equally. "Temporal Edict" is one of my least loved, but still ranks more than a plain old "I like it". A stand out part of this ep is how Ransom deals with Mariner while imprisoned on Gelrak V - I can't imagine any other first officer impaling a subordinate's foot. Well, except for Kira, maybe?
