Game The Most Disliked Maquis Episode

I will save "Extreme Risk" for being an (albeit much-belated) reaction to the Maquis of the Alpha Quadrant having been wiped out. The relationship between B'Elanna and Chakotay called back to earlier days of the series. Roxann Dawson put in some good work here, and Robert Beltran brought a rare bit of intensity himself.

Let down, of course, by the lightweight ending, and by the fact that B'Elanna's depression hadn't been foreshadowed in previous episodes, and wouldn't be followed up on in future episodes. But the others here are either silly or fatuous. (You pick which is which.)

This is the terrible twos.

Both season 7 episodes, both really weak overall. Hard call.

I will save "Journey's End" for two reasons.

First, while we may not agree with how Wesley's story ends, at least it was something different.

Second, and this might surprise some... Gul Evek. Basically, he justified his presence with one piece of dialogue, very well delivered.

"I lost two of three sons in the war. I don't want to lose the only one I have left."

That tugged on a few heartstrings. I think it's why he was brought back a couple times, for another TNG episode and the VOYAGER pilot.

So the 'winner' is "REPRESSION".

Meanwhile, it is fun to see this master winners list grow. VOY and ENT are again tied, 6 win's each! I really thought this was TNG's moment to get another on the board, I HATE "Journey's End." But I'm no fan of "Repression" either -- what a weird story to decide to tell in season 7. These were solid finalists.
