Game The Most Disliked Klingon Episode/Movie

Since @CorporalCaptain ninja'd me on what would have been my next pick....I'm taking out "Marauders" from ENT S2. Not sure how this episode is viewed overall, but I've always really liked it. It's like Star Trek goes "Firefly" for an episode, and it worked well for me.
I was rooting for that one to win! :bolian::biggrin:

Saving "Unification II." I know any reason we choose to spare an episode is legit (as long as it's not a tactical vote). I just find it a little ironic that, in a contest involving Klingon episodes, I'm selecting an episode best known for its Romulan connections -- and I'm picking it because of the Vulcans. I found the scene between Picard and Sarek deeply affecting, and of course as a longtime fan I was delighted to see Nimoy's Spock even in a brief appearance.
I do love how many of them overlap and work as showcases for multiple aliens, that's always a fun thing to notice when I'm compiling the lists.

DSC, Through The Valley Of Shadows

Neat episode full of incident. Again, maybe not everyone’s favourite but this for me was Discovery in its’ Imperial phase. Season 2 was bold and confident, Spock and Pike shine in this episode and sitting alongside legacy characters are the likes of Burnham and Saru who also get a lot to do here.

Again, maybe nobodies favourite but I really enjoyed this one. The whole Red Angel thing started to pay off a little around this episode.
Every save of this game I did stop and wonder, "Through The Valley Of Shadows"? It might just as easily have been my first save (well, not the first one, I know "wej Duj" is tops for me). But this is definitely a favorite episode of the streaming era for me.

There’s still quite a broad spread of things there!

How does Into Darkness qualify as a Klingon story? Am I being dumb?
Well, the story involves trying to start a war with the Klingons, part of it takes place on the Klingon homeworld and involves Klingons. How's that? :)
Yeah, we never had it on before, but every time I have wondered about it. It seemed right on the line. This time I realized the excursion to Qo'noS is, for me at least, absolutely the most memorable part of the movie, it's always the first thing I think of.

And on that note, saving Star Trek Into Darkness! People seem to hate this one, but I do legit love it. I love all the Kelvin movies, aside from TUC they are the best Trek films for me and each one was more satisfying than the one before.

Will save Birthright Part I, primarily for the non-Klingon part of it. Loved Data's dreams, especially "you are the bird", and it was cool having a crossover with DS9.

Good enough!

I always think of it primarily as a Khan story, but yes, you’re right. I said I was probably being dumb! :-)

Eh. The Killing Game part I and II feature a Klingon tribe, two of the main cast - Janeway and Neelix - being altered to look and act like Klingons for sections of the episodes, and the Klingons play a semi major role in the final battle against the Hirogen, yet those eps are not on the list. Maybe it's because it's all holographic? I'm not sure on what the criteria are here, but we get what we get

On another note, I'm saving VOY Season 7: “Prophecy”. Yeah, the Kuvah'magh stuff is kind of stupid, and it gets much worse in the relaunch books, but Tuvok's indignation of having to bunk with Neelix and when he sees his quarters after Neelix has mated with the Klingon lady is pretty funny. Tom being a supportive partner of B'Elanna, regardless of all the craziness, is endearing. Plus, Janeway got to shoot someone and you know the coffee tasted all the sweeter for it afterwards.

Choosing TOS Season 3: "The Savage Curtain"
Now comes the moment when it's the best episode remaining.
The Excalbian is a pretty cool alien.
I can't say much for the canonically first appearance of the image of Kahless.
They missed an opportunity to portray the representations of evil with depth, in order to back up the Excalbian's (in real life, spurious) claim that there is no difference between good and evil except that evil "retreats when forcibly confronted."
However, the realization of Abe was great (can't comment on historical accuracy), and Surak was compelling.

DIS Season 2: “Point Of Light”

I'm going to save ENT Season 2: "The Expanse", because it's awesome. It's basically the pilot for a new version of Enterprise, with more direction and higher stakes, but it brings all of Archer's enemies together for one last gauntlet before he's free to go save the Earth. Possibly my favourite episode of the whole series.

DIS Season 2: “Point Of Light”

It was a toss up between "The Chase," which I would think would have made a great idea for a motion picture or (better still) as a serialized season of Trek...and the one that I'm REALLY picking, which is "Choose Your Pain."

"Choose Your Pain" is a pretty cool DSC episode...it has Mudd in it, introduces Tyler, shows some background to Lorca, and is generally pretty gritty and tense throughout.

Saving "THE AUGMENTS".

Loved the trilogy, and Spiner was most effective conveying his pain at losing his 'kids'.

Choosing TNG Feature: "Star Trek Generations"
It's not all bad.
The beginning is alright. I enjoyed seeing Kirk and the part inside the Nexus quite a bit.
The saucer crashing was exciting in the theater.
The Duras sisters get their comeuppance.

Si Vis Pacem, ParraBellum next for me. I do miss the darker Discovery of Season 1.

I'm saving Sons and Daughters, even though the Alexander/Klingon part is average, I like the rest of the episode. I always enjoyed Kira and Ziyal's relationship, which was even more fascinating after the declaration of war. Dukat is one of the most multi-faceted characters in DS9 as even when he's being bad, he still has his sympathetic moments. Well, until S7. ;)

I like that they won by coming up with a clever solution.

Saving “Firstborn”. Worf is a good father in this episode and it's interesting to see Alexander trying to change something that he regrets.

TNG Season 6: “Rightful Heir”
ENT Season 4: “Affliction”

Point of Light next for me and that’s my last bite here because I can’t remember the rest. Another strong Season 2 episode. Discovery did very well with Klingons I think, but I’m glad they’ve focussed on other things throughout subsequent seasons.

I actually really liked Point of Light. Even for DSC, it was a very different outing, and I remember thinking it was really cool. There were one or two elements to it that were not great, but overall it was a creative and well-done episode.

Rightful Heir is an interesting look at the return of a long-dead legend. It's a tad average in parts, but there are some interesting political ramifications of the existence of Kah'less for Gowron and the Klingons.

TNG Season 6: “Birthright, Part II”
ENT Season 4: “Affliction”
ENT Season 4: “Divergence”

I have fun with the Enterprise two-parter. I'll save "Affliction." Nice material for Phlox. I don't mind the Augment virus thing, it doesn't turn me off as it does many others.
