Game The Most Disliked "Hey, This Planet Is Just Like Earth!" Episode

I must save "Plato's Stepchildren", which I don't mind that much, to be honest. The scenes of Kirk etc being mentally controlled by the Platonians are at least memorable, for reasons both admirable (Kirk/Uhura kiss) and bonkers (Kirk as a horse being ridden by a little person).

TOS, Season 1: "Miri"
TOS, Season 3: “The Paradise Syndrome”

Sub Rosa is one of the very few TNG episodes I've only watched once (in first-run only).

I believe the others are also Season 7 stinkers:
Interface
Dark Page
Homeward
(actually, I think I might have turned these off before finishing them I found them so dull and awful at the time)

As well as:
Aquiel
Suspicions
Hero Worship
Cost of Living

I AM KIROK!

TOS, Season 3: “The Paradise Syndrome”

The ending is so atypical for TOS but really hits the mark, oddly. It is a tragedy and one can tell Kirk really loved Miramonie. Salesh made for a great villain as well.

The episode is hokey in some ways but feels innocent. And The Preservers prevailing, it's got a decent premise. If not saccharine.

Gotta save "Paradise Syndrome"

A cool sci-fi concept, good Spock/McCoy stuff...and a Trek lovestory for Kirk that actually makes sense given the time frame involved and circumstances (see also: COTEOF)

TOS, Season 1: "Miri"
TOS, Season 3: “The Paradise Syndrome”

We were both racing, to the same end! :guffaw:

The asteroid subplot was a good one for sure, and - absolutely - it's one of the few romance stories of TOS that felt authentic (less schlocky as it's the schlock that turned me off, so seeing this one actually work was not an unpleasant surprise.)

And that ending that still remains as gut-wrenchingly tragic on the 50th viewing as it does the first. And yet it works. In Star Trek. Season 3 really shook things up and somehow made it work. Usually.

And TOS FINALLY has a winner! And a deserving one, too.

I was going to feel so bad for poor Enterprise if their one lousy entrant on the list made it all the way to the end, beating out the many TOS candidates.

Thanks for playing all! See you on the next one: "The Most Disliked Barclay Episode"

I feel the same way about "Sub Rosa." It's so deliciously camp, but in a way that seems utterly unintentional (which makes it even better). You might appreciate this poster art as much as I do.

I do like that poster! And the reminder that "Sub Rosa" was directed by Jonathan Frakes. That man is such a talented director, I think that's the secret sauce really elevating this one and making it such Divine Trash Camp. A lesser director, it would just have been boring awful junk...
