Game The Most Disliked Episode Written By Joe Menosky

I love the whole idea of "Legacy." They did a great job keeping the emotional aftermath of Tasha's death resonating throughout the series.

I can't believe "DRAGON'S TEETH" is still on this list. No longer!

A great story and premise, and the Vaadwaur would have made great recurring villains. Even better since they could potentially encounter them all the way back home because of the subspace corridors.

Latent Image is a good study of the Doctor, and his rights as an individual to suffer again through the trauma that caused his malfunction in the first place.

I love seeing Seven rooting for him, as Janeway has been giving her the exact same rights and chances that she had previously denied the poor Doc.

Well, hell, I know I'm gonna save "Unimatrix Zero, Part 1" at some point in this exercise, so I might as well save some time and do it now. Because raiding a Borg cube is the kind of wacky caper that either gets you lavishly rewarded or ignominiously blown up, and they didn't get blown up.

The first time I watched this, I was sitting there watching Janeway explain the plan, and I was asking the universe in befuddlement, "Why is no one telling her that's crazy?"

Saving "DRAMATIS PERSONAE".

I think this episode was perfected placed in terms of production and overall DS9 story for where everyone was at the time. It was before everyone fully trusted each other, but quite a bit after they got over early issues.

It was a cool idea, a telepathic disease that essentially makes people relive a power struggle over and over again. Almost like a mental version of "Cause And Effect". Highly entertaining episode, and we see Sisko's clock debut.

I have always felt the one quality that separates him from all other captains was he was a builder. He was an engineer by training and was there until he went on the command track. He is building a life for himself and his son. He builds a life on DS9 after it was abandoned. He helps rebuild Bajor. He helped design and build the Defiant. He even builds a solar ship from scratch himself. This episode, more than any other, shows that even when under weird alien circumstances, he is a builder at his core. THAT is what the clock, to me, represents. If I had no other reason to save this episode, which I have several, that clock was it.

(And not a coincidence it is a physical representation of what he was teaching the Prophets.)

Saved! Yeah, Seven was off her gourd due to data overload (can you blame her, social media enthusiasts?!) but there's a nugget of truth in all things...also a nugget of amusement from this viewer. And: ahhhhh nice scene between Seven and Janeway, and Naomi is cute.

I just realised that I forgot to remove Latent Image from the list after saving it. :D

Now I'll go for Equinox, Part II. It continues Janeway's quest to capture the crew, at any cost, it seems. It's more great entertainment.

"DISTANT VOICES" was a great idea, with a nice trip in Bashir's head. Always a treat to have Garak on.

And the Lethean is a great new alien. Excellent design and makeup, and I wish we saw more instead of just one other appearance.

There's no way this one's the worst:

DS9 Season 6: "Time's Orphan" (story)

I've commented on this one before, and despite its foibles is still a very watchable entry...

The big foible is how everyone fights for 16 year-old devolved Molly's rights as if her younger self had none and who the hell wants to grow up like that, as even 16 year-old Molly remembers her mama from before the incident and readily clings... and it's the most contrived, needless argument - which is also original in its own way but doesn't quite pull it off and that I didn't think of before. It all still leads to the actual meat of the episode, trying to heal and train her (all while working on the B-plot of "find the reset button cuz we know they will"). And the actual meat of the episode makes up for the conveniences of setup and resolution; we all know she'd be her normal self again, and the episode knew how to maximize its formula too.

I'll go for the Future's End, Part I next. It's so much fun, and better than the follow-up.

I may be the only person in the world who likes Sarah Silverman in these episodes, as well.

You aren't. Sarah Silverman was a cool addition for that two-parter.

"NIGHT" sees the light of day by being saved.

A very cool concept, going through that starless region of space. The Malons rather stink, though...

Also cool was the idea of a species native to that void. I always wondered where their planet was. I even thought it could have been a chain of rogue planets, which by itself I think is a fun idea.

Plus, they cut 2 and 1/2 years off their journey. Some good deeds ARE rewarded after all...

Saving "The Fight" from the chaotic realm of dislikedness. It had an unusual concept (that admittedly could have been executed better), some excellent visuals, pretty good direction, and one of Robert Beltran's better efforts. Extra props for having Ned Romero and Ray Walston as guest stars.

It's my favorite of what's left? And it was decent actually... Neelix hanging with the Kilngons, Harry pouring sweat trying to come up with a solution, Janeway and Seven sneaking around through Jeffries tubes, "extreme" damage to Voyager in the end, wel... yeah, extreme. They made some fast repairs that day. ;)
