Game The Most Disliked Episode Written By Jeri Taylor

I've just realised that I'm not overly thrilled with any of these, so my reasons for saving them may be a little... let's just say spare. Anyway, TNG: "Silicon Avatar" gave us the Crystalline Entity, without which the opening credits of the third season of Lower Decks wouldn't be so crystal chimey and Borg cube blowy uppy, not to mention its unwitting part in Shari yn Yem's comeuppance in LDS: "I, Excretus" :guffaw:

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Unification I" (teleplay)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 5: "The Outcast"(written)
TNG Season 6: "Time's Arrow, Part II" (teleplay)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)
TNG Season 6: "Descent, Part I" (story)
VOY Season 2: "The 37's" (written with Brannon Braga)

VOY Season 3: "Real Life" (teleplay)
VOY Season 4: "Day Of Honor" (written)

One great episode with some truly great acting by Jeri Ryan.

VOY Season 4: "Day Of Honor" (written)
VOY Season 5: "Nothing Human"(written)

Saving her last episode of the franchise, "NOTHING HUMAN".

Great story, and great message and dilemma.

(And production wise, this was actually the 100th filmed episode of VGR.)

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Unification I" (teleplay)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 5: "The Outcast"(written)
TNG Season 6: "Time's Arrow, Part II" (teleplay)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)

VOY Season 2: "Investigations" (teleplay)
VOY Season 3: "Real Life" (teleplay)
VOY Season 4: "Day Of Honor" (written)

For Kes snacking on beetles - and pretty much anything else not nailed down - I'm saving VOY: "Elogium". This episode also gives us Voyager going all submissive, and Ensign Wildman's announcement that she'll soon be giving birth to the captain's future assistant :)

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Unification I" (teleplay)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 5: "The Outcast"(written)
TNG Season 6: "Time's Arrow, Part II" (teleplay)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)

VOY Season 2: "Investigations" (teleplay)
VOY Season 3: "Real Life" (teleplay)
VOY Season 4: "Day Of Honor" (written)

I quite liked the mystery of Spock in Unification I, and it was good to see Sarek for one last time.

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 5: "The Outcast"(written)
TNG Season 6: "Time's Arrow, Part II" (teleplay)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)
TNG Season 6: "Descent, Part I" (story)
VOY Season 2: "The 37's" (written with Brannon Braga)
VOY Season 2: "Investigations" (teleplay)
VOY Season 3: "Real Life" (teleplay)
VOY Season 4: "Day Of Honor" (written)

"Day Of Honor" - there are many things I love about this episode - Tom is really sweet, Neelix making Klingon food (without adding a Taxalian twist to it), seeing Seven trying to get to grips with life on a Starfleet ship, B'Elanna's story.

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 5: "The Outcast"(written)
TNG Season 6: "Time's Arrow, Part II" (teleplay)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)
TNG Season 6: "Descent, Part I" (story)
VOY Season 2: "The 37's" (written with Brannon Braga)
VOY Season 2: "Investigations" (teleplay)
VOY Season 3: "Real Life" (teleplay)

Eliminating TNG Season 6: "Time's Arrow, Part II" (teleplay)

For the very simple reason that of all the episodes left, I think I like this one the most. It's perhaps no absolute top tier episode, but it isn't bottom rung either, in my view.

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 5: "The Outcast"(written)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)
TNG Season 6: "Descent, Part I" (story)
VOY Season 2: "The 37's" (written with Brannon Braga)
VOY Season 2: "Investigations" (teleplay)
VOY Season 3: "Real Life" (teleplay)

Real Life not gonna lie, I legit shed a tear the first time I watched this one. Poor Doctor.

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 5: "The Outcast"(written)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)
TNG Season 6: "Descent, Part I" (story)
VOY Season 2: "The 37's" (written with Brannon Braga)
VOY Season 2: "Investigations" (teleplay)

"The Outcast" It really suffers from playing a heterosexual couple for a gay allegory. But, I also found this one to be a fun recent rediscovery. The love story does fundamentally work -- something that can not often be said of a Trek ROTW. It's the fact that this one episode is the only statement TNG could muster on LGBTQ issues that makes it such a problem... but I think if it were one of many, it would work.

Oh, maybe that's it! Now that Star Trek as a whole has managed to have more than 2 or 3 episodes about LGBTQ issues/characters -- "The Outcast" does work suddenly.

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)
TNG Season 6: "Descent, Part I" (story)
VOY Season 2: "The 37's" (written with Brannon Braga)
VOY Season 2: "Investigations" (teleplay)

"Investigations" - I really enjoyed the spy for Seska/the Kazon storyline and it was cool to see Neelix in his role as morale officer.

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)
TNG Season 6: "Descent, Part I" (story)
VOY Season 2: "The 37's" (written with Brannon Braga)

The second half was a bit of a letdown, but Descent Part 1 was actually a pretty scary episode with quite a cliffhanger. And besides, it's better than the other four.

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
TNG Season 5: "Violations" (teleplay with Pamela Gray)
TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)
VOY Season 2: "The 37's" (written with Brannon Braga)

An easy choice to save, this:

TNG Season 6: "Aquiel" (story)

See, that one is mostly boring, and what's cringey with it isn't anywhere as atrociously bad as:

TNG Season 4: "Suddenly Human"(teleplay with John Whelpley)
This one is AWFUL.

Chad Allen came from that horrid and syrupy "Our House" show (another big bucket of cringe) to this episode where he's playing a loud howling doggy with a knife fetish -- all in early season 4 of "Staaaaaaar Trek, the Next Generation", which hammed up and stretched out both teh saccharine and the same basic theme in every post-BOBW up to but not including "Legacy", where some crewmember is kidnapped or some equivalent and has to go through their own form of identity being robbed or whatever. Having doggy dude come in to try to get all Klingon on Picard just falls flat. Let Worf and Kurn do that instead on DS9, where it can count for something proper by comparison.
