The MOST Disliked Episode of VOYAGER - Season Three...

I deleted Macrocosm for Janeway playing Ripley from Aliens at the end.

FALSE PROFITS
SACRED GROUND
ALTER EGO
CODA
UNITY
DARKLING
RISE
FAVORITE SON

CODA: Not as bad as the others and there's the time loop and the confusion for what actually happened. That doesn't mean that I am crazy about it though.

'Alter Ego' features Tuvok and he's my favourite of all Trek characters. Marayna is kind of a lonely character too.

Unity. It was perhaps the wrong Borg episode at the wrong time - an "I, Borg" when the show needed a "Best of Both Worlds" - but it still has a somewhat interesting concept.

Well, we eventually got our "Best of Both Worlds" in this show.

"False Profits." It could have been A LOT better, but there's inherent fun in picking up this scrap of a plot thread years and years later.

SACRED GROUND
DARKLING
RISE
FAVORITE SON

DARKLING: The doc's doppelganger beat up Kes' flirt, whom I find really annoying. It was a definite plus... a badly needed one!

“Sacred Ground”. I always loved the end scene were Janeway was thinking that there are something’s that could just never be explained by science, all the while the Doctor is trying to explain to Kes his theory.

So “Favorite Son” is the winner for this round.

Meanwhile, turns out we are trendsetters with the recurring quibbling over what name makes the most sense for these games. Now the Oscars are following our lead...

LA Times:
How the Oscars preferential ballot turns the best picture race into a celebration of the 'least disliked'
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/la-ca-mn-oscars-preferential-ballots-20180301-story.html

That's not quite the same as this game though, that's more like a runoff election.

I think this article gets the reasoning for a voting system like that wrong. It's kind of like how in elections, third parties have no chance because they think if they vote for a third party it will help the major party they dislike more. So people vote strategically for the movie or political candidate most likely to beat the one they are most worried will win instead of voting what they actually want. Ranked ballot voting takes that away and lets everybody just vote their preference with no worry they are helping the movie they despise.

Our 'winner' of season 3 is "FAVORITE SON". (To be honest, I thought this would end up the last one. It IS a rather dreadful episode.)

I find it interesting that the runner ups for season 2 and 3 are holdovers from the previous season. If UPN had aired them in their correct season, could they have ended up the 'winners' of season 1 and 2?

Thank you all for voting. I will begin season 4 shortly.

I'm literally watching "Favorite Son" right now. All I've got to say is, poor Harry. Poor, poor Harry.

All I can say is: It's a monument to bad acting and bad storytelling.

Where did they get these "actresses"?
Remember when Wang said they had to underplay to make the aliens look believable? Those actresses had to downplay to make us want Harry to champion his way back to Voyager. I like Harry, don't misunderstand, I'm just turning his perspective back at him because Wang can do better. We've seen it.

I always seemed to remember that the Swarm returned in another episode but I can't find it anywhere! It must be the Mandela Effect again! :wah:

It must be me, I remember wishing that I would never see the Swarn again. It must have caused the shift between universes.

I bought a couple of the Swarm figures as I thought they looked pretty cool but I was sure that they had appeared more than once in the series but apparently not! :wtf:
