The MOST Disliked Episode of VOYAGER - Season One...

Well, I'm just glad the Cloud wasn't the last loser standing... I like that ep. for the power animals, the living nebula, and the introduction (I think) of Chez Sandrine. My third fav s1 ep after Caretaker and Cathexis.

One of my favorite things about season 1 of this show was unusual concepts like the living nebula here. Seems like space dwelling lifeforms were a thing for its inaugural year, snd I loved that. (I am counting "ELOGIUM" and "TWISTED", since both were produced in season 1.) It helped make the Delta Quadrant that much more mysterious and different.

The 'winner' of season 1 is "EX POST FACTO".

A side note... I have always felt the first season of this series was the strongest since TOS, even after watching DISCOVERY. A bit ironic, actually, since VOYAGER is kind of at the lower favorite of STAR TREK shows for me. I was interested to see how this turned out. This one did not disappoint.

My vote goes to DS9's first season, if in tone than anything else. No other Trek had a first year with episodes meeting the quality of "Emissary," "Dax," "Progress," "Duet," and "In the Hands of the Prophets." Heck, I'll even throw in "The Nagus."

Voyager had the most consistent first year, and I'd honestly suggest it was it's strongest. It best represented the original premise of the shpw, and hadn't yet devolved into the shallow, paper-thin sci-fi action show it'd become.

DS9's first season is a close second... VERY close. I agree that it did stand out far better than TNG, ENTERPRISE, or DISCOVERY.

Well, I should say close third... TOS still ranks as the best first season in my book, then with VOYAGER and DS9.

I suspect that I might agree with you on that order, but haven't seen DS9 yet.
I wish I was a bigger fan of TNG. I am having a difficult time engaging with the characters and that seems to be the series that is revered above all others post-TOS by many Trek fans.

TOS owns the best first season but Voyager is next. Discovery is crap.

Winners of this season to me are average to mediocre episodes rather than terrible ones. Nothing terribly wrong with them but nothing too right with them either. Don't see either of these being overall champion.

There IS, in fact, coffee in that nebula.
