The MOST Disliked Episode of VOYAGER - Season One...

Farscape One

This is a twist on a game that is played here, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am very curious to see the results.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, wait six hours and leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

I will get the ball rolling with "FACES".

This was superbly acted by Roxann Dawson. I think the seeds of Paris and Torres ending up together started here, since they have great chemistry. The Vidiians, to me, are extremely creepy and uncomfortable, and it was always interesting to have them appear. The reveal of the Vidiian Doctor with Durst's face is a great horror image for the series. Great episode for not just the first season, but the series as a whole.

I thought Caretaker was a really good pilot, and showed a lot of promise for the show. It did a good job of introducing the characters and situations.

Prime Factors. One of the few times that the Federation/Maquis factions in the crew really came into play, and an otherwise pretty solid episode.

"Jetrel" VOY tries for their own "Duet", and pretty much gets there. I always wished they had spent more time mining this angle on Neelix, his experiences as a survivor of a genocide.

I deleted Phage for introducing Voyager's best new villian. Also Mulgrew acted the shit out of her last scene with the Vidiians in this one.

I'm sparing Cathexis... mainly due to the horror-vibe it contained with the body jumping alien.

I'm sparing "Eye of the Needle." The first, and best, of the "almost got home" episodes. Great performances all around, with a sad twist that pulls at the heartstrings.

I am eliminating HEROES AND DEMONS, I really like the doc and we see him in a great role for the first time in the series.

Parallax is my favourite of those remaining. I like seeing Janeway showing her science background and bonding with B'Ellana.

Here we gooooo...

Removing Time and Again. I like the self fulfilling prophecy thing and at this point in Voyager it hadn't been overused yet. It was well executed and showcased an aspect of Tom's character that got lost over time. Underrated episode.

“The Learning Curve”. Interesting episode showing the Maquis-Starfleet conflict. It’s to bad that we never saw Darby again.

"State of Flux" had an engaging plot and gave Chakotay some real characterization. The interactions between him and Seska, and him and Tuvok, were interesting.

THE CLOUD
EX POST FACTO
EMANATIONS

I will give my vote to "EMANATIONS". It was a nice story for Kim, and a good concept overall.

The loser is Ex Post Facto. It's just A Matter of Perspective again, except worse. A dog is the witness?! Actually that reminds me of a recent Black Mirror episode. Still, that's not a good enough reason to save it over The Cloud, which has a line of dialogue so iconic it's the subheading of this forum.

Ex Post Facto

Well, I'm just glad the Cloud wasn't the last loser standing... I like that ep. for the power animals, the living nebula, and the introduction (I think) of Chez Sandrine. My third fav s1 ep after Caretaker and Cathexis.

The 'winner' of season 1 is "EX POST FACTO".

A side note... I have always felt the first season of this series was the strongest since TOS, even after watching DISCOVERY. A bit ironic, actually, since VOYAGER is kind of at the lower favorite of STAR TREK shows for me. I was interested to see how this turned out. This one did not disappoint.

Thank you all for voting. I will start season two shortly.
