The Most Disliked Episode of VGR, Season 5: 2021 Edition...

Farscape One

This is a twist on a game that is played here, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

Season 5... another strong season. Some really great concepts executed very well. A couple clunkers, but definitely one of the best seasons of this show.

My first save is one of the darkest endings of the franchise... "COURSE: OBLIVION".

It starts off with a mystery, and once you see the pieces fall into place, it takes a left turn and focuses more on the characters and it just gets more and more tragic.

One of the saddest endings of the franchise, these guys deserved better than to be liquified out of existence with no trace of their deeds. It's doubly sad that basically the one who started it all, Harry, was the last one left. He got to see the formation of their sentience AND their melting into nothingness. He really was the alpha and the omega.

I always wondered if our crew ever encountered people who were helped or offended by the copied crew. Definitely would have made a nice epilogue.

One of the best concept executions of the series. This episode fully justifies the existence of "DEMON" last year.

(Funny coincidence... both were directed by Anson Williams.)

I'll start with "BRIDE OF CHAOTICA!", it's really not bad and IMO a lot more fun than "The Big Goodbye" for example.

"Bliss"! Apt title, I find this episode such a delight. Seven & Naomi, a great ship-shaving pair.

This one is just also packed with great little moments and lines. The air does go out a little in the last act, but that's 90% of Voyager episodes, so I forgive it.

I'll save Drone as it's my favourite remake of Star Trek The Next Generation's The Offspring

"DARK FRONTIER", because it's really not bad for a Borg story. It would have made a better season finale than Equinox, IMO.

Removing Timeless. The only tube in the series Garrett Wang acted and an exciting ambitious story executed well.

I think I only want to save Seven episodes? "Someone To Watch Over Me" is beautiful. Possibly the best purely emotional episode of the series?

"THINK TANK" is fun. A group of amoral geniuses. Plus it was nice to see the guy from Seinfeld in a different role.

Saving Thirty Days. Might be the best Tom Paris centered episode across Voyager. Finally get to see the Delaney Sisters, and RIP to the wonderful WIllie Garson.

Saving "INFINITE REGRESS". Another one that proves Jeri Ryan was one of the best actresses in the franchise.

I'm saving "Relativity". The flashbacks to pre-"Caretaker" Voyager is fun, and the reveal of Braxton as the villain is well done. It manages to avoid being a retread of DS9's "Visionary" while paving the way for Voyager's own "Shattered", but is different enough from both of those to stand on its own – and frankly if the worst criticism that can be thrown at it is that it's too similar to "Visionary" or "Shattered" then it's not doing badly.

You make valid points, and while "RELATIVITY" is fun, it's also a headache inducing episode. Time travel is hard enough, but this level was just... too much.

While I'm still upset about it not fixing a certain stupid error in the series that it could have resolved quite easily (those of you who know me will know which issue that is), "Night" is still one of Voyager's best and most underrated efforts. And it only narrowly beat out several other fine episodes.

Saving "Extreme Risk." While it would absolutely have benefitted from some set-up in earlier episodes, I still appreciate that it actually followed up on the Alpha Quadrant revelations of "Hunters" -- the deaths of the AQ Maquis definitely merited a "reaction shot" from their Voyager counterparts. Plus, I love the B'Elanna-Chakotay interaction. Those two play well off one another.

Saving "COUNTERPOINT". Exactly like I feel about season 2's "RESISTANCE", it's an overdone type of story but it is REALLY good solely because of the performances of Kate Mulgrew and, in this case, Mark Harelik. Excellent chemistry.

Latent Image for me. I loved the whole angle of the Doctor discovering a conspiracy of somebody deleting his memories, and Seven is there helping to unravel it. The moment where Janeway is discovered to be the person doing the deleting was a good moment, as was seeing what exactly had happened to the dead crewmember.

I recently watched "In the Flesh" and rather enjoyed it. Something surreal about finding Starfleet Academy 60,000 light years from where it should be. Plus, Chakotay actually gets to do something.

Eliminating Equinox (I'm assuming this is just part 1 we're talking about). At least its premise is intriguing -- how far would a Federation crew be willing to go if their very life was on the line to survive? Seeing Equinox as a stand in for Voyager - how could a less lucky version of Voyager have fared?

And of course what they did was unforgivable - all the same I'm not entirely convinced Janeway who judges them in the fiercest way possible- wouldn't have come to the same deeds in their position, had she been in their shoes.
