The MOST Disliked Episode of TNG - Season Three...

@OP: shouldn't these be titled "least liked" instead of "most disliked"? The methodology doesn't really select the most disliked items on the list, just the ones nobody liked enough to save.

I made it "MOST Disliked" because I wanted to make sure there was no confusion with the other polls recently. Also, it seems to me if something is not liked enough to be saved, wouldn't that by definition be most disliked enough by people?

It's funny that every time we play this game, people always quibble about the name. ;)

I've got it! This version of the game should be "The Least Most Disliked." Perfectly accurate and not at all confusing.;)

I am going to save "The Hunted". It was a great cat and mouse game when Danar was loose on the ship, and him getting the better of everyone was quite fun to watch, despite how much we wanted our crew to win. In the end, it was also a great way to highlight veterans, who really do the short end of the stick in real life. A very important lesson, as far as I'm concerned.

Evolution
The Ensigns of Command
The Bonding
The Price
The Vengeance Factor
The High Ground
A Matter of Perspective
Allegiance
Menage a Troi
Transfigurations

I'll save The High Ground. An episode so good it was banned from broadcast in the UK for 20 years.

Evolution
The Ensigns of Command
The Bonding
The Price
The Vengeance Factor
A Matter of Perspective
Allegiance
Menage a Troi
Transfigurations

For letting Data explore the human condition while still unapologetically being Data, I will save “The Ensigns of Command”. Also, a malevolent —or at least unpleasant—species being stymied by an arbitration clause is just too rich.

Evolution

The Bonding
The Price
The Vengeance Factor
A Matter of Perspective
Allegiance
Menage a Troi
Transfigurations

Eliminating A Matter of Perspective.

What's not to like about future Rashomon? A few plot holes isn't a major problem.

Evolution

The Bonding
The Price
The Vengeance Factor
Allegiance
Menage a Troi
Transfigurations

I made it "MOST Disliked" because I wanted to make sure there was no confusion with the other polls recently. Also, it seems to me if something is not liked enough to be saved, wouldn't that by definition be most disliked enough by people?

Not necessarily. In fact, both notions are only equivalent when the choice is binary.

Take classic Fruitella colours, for example:

- 90% of people (normal people) know the yellows are clearly the worst.
- 7% of people (misguided fanatics) think it's the oranges.
- 3% of people (complete monsters) think it's the pinks.

So, the yellows are the most disliked, as should be.
But the distribution of people's preferred colours reveals that they aren't the least favoured:

- 87% of people know the pinks are, by far, the best.
- 7% of people think it's the yellows.
- 6% of people think it's the oranges.

It's funny that every time we play this game, people always quibble about the name.

Oh, rest assured I know it's an inconsequential matter, but one I find interesting.

Least liked and most disliked aren't equivalent statements. Something can be least liked and least disliked, if nobody has any opinion of it whatsoever. Also something can be most liked and most disliked, if half the people think it's the greatest thing ever and the other half think it's the worst thing ever.

Since Beverly was always one of my favorite TNG characters, I'll save "Evolution" for marking her return to the series.

The Bonding
The Price
The Vengeance Factor
Allegiance
Menage a Troi
Transfigurations

“The Vengance Factor”. I always love Riker’s flirtation and then the sad reality that he had to kill his love.

The Bonfing
The Price
Allegiance
Ménage A Troi
Transfigurations

I'll save The Bonding. While not really that great of an episode, it does do the important job of demonstrating the skills that Michael Piller and Ron Moore would bring to the series, and it's still the most enjoyable out of the remaining ones.

The Price
Allegiance
Ménage A Troi
Transfigurations

Deleting Allegiance, it's a fun episode from begining to end, I especially enjoy the final act where Picard captures his captors.

The Price
Ménage A Troi
Transfigurations

I'm saving The Price, I liked the wormhole plot and I even liked the ferengi in this one as silly as they are. I also remember the guest star calling out Troi's hypocricy when she accused him of using his betazoid abilities to his advantage.

Ménage A Troi
Transfigurations

Saving Ménage a Troi. Surprised it made it that far in as it’s an all around fun episode. Best use of Lwaxana.

That leaves Transfigurations. This ep just hits all the weird notes. Trying to show the step of evolution the show implies is in humans future and fit it into a cultural hate toward change metaphor but because they make the guy so obnoxiously messianic none of it works.

Man, if only I had voted yesterday -- I would have removed "Transfigurations" due to it not being that band and ending with some nice scoring.

"Ménage A Troi" deserved to be the "winner" here.
