The Finals list for TNG this year... most have a pretty good case to be considered the worst of the series.

I'm going to put my first vote for "Final Mission".

I thought Wil Wheaton did some good acting opposite Patrick Stewart, particularly after Picard was injured. He came across as genuinely heartfelt with everything he said. I thought it was a good farewell to Wesley Crusher as a member of the crew.

Wow this is a tough list to find something good in. I guess I would say Lessons is the best of the bad bunch. An insight into romance at the top of the command structure only slightly better than Fair Haven.

Poorly done on a technical level when they didnt even try to hide the stand the keyboard was on but it was referenced kind of sweetly in Mass Effect 3.

"The Price" fails badly in execution but you can kind of see what it's trying to do, and I like how the wormhole and Ral plots run side by side (in that both are about something which initially seems attractive and exciting, but turns out to be unreliable and disappointing).

Much of this list is episodes that were dull rather than bad but there are a couple I actively like.

"A Matter of Perspective" is a interesting "take" on points-of-view. I really like the mystery of the unknown pulses and how Geordi and Picard unravel it. The pov differences between Riker and Manua doesn't quite work because we "know" Riker must be innocent. On the other hand, time have changed since the episode was made and this does show up how Riker's charming, flirty behaviour might be regarded outside his friendship group.

Yes it will! I love "Lessons." One of Trek's best ROTW's. Certainly on TNG especially it stands out, no Trek show has been worse at romance than this one.

I'm surprised that Lessons made it to the finals, it was one of Trek's best ROTW.

The chemistry between the two is nicely realised, and I also liked the musical callback to The Inner Light.

Despite Geordi's slightly stalkerish behaviour going through all her logs, Aquiel is probably the strongest of this bunch. Plus doggo.

Final Mission next.

Despite the contrived plot for Crusher leaving, the scenes between him and Oicard were nicely done.

A vote for "Violations" because it's the only one of these I'd consider rewatching - I thought the memory scenes were really effective and well done.

Of this list of major clunkaroonies, the one that stands out to me the best right now is...

"Samaritan Snare"

It at least tries to be a mystery/action/suspense adventure where Geordi is the center of attention, and it's one of the few Geordi stories where he's not being unintentionally awkward or icky toward to a woman.

There's also some okay character development for Picard and even Wesley. Overlook some sappy treknobabble about capillary action (sounds a bit dirty too, eww...) and there's a good Pulaski moment too.

A deadlock is impossible with the Finals.

If no vote is cast after 48 hours, the episode that got to the highest number first (1, 2, or 3) gets eliminated.
