It's a fun episode. I like it slightly more than the others.

[Faintly Macabre]

"Once Upon A Planet" is an interesting take on the rogue computer with Kirk, once again, reasoning the computer out of its dangerous behaviour. The difference here is that Kirk, rather than defeating the computer, persuades it of the benefits of behaving "well". Revisiting the "Shore Leave" planet gives us some background to that episode - the kind of retcon that works properly. Also a nice Uhura scene - she did better in the animated series than the live action ones.

"Once Upon A Planet" has some good bits for Uhura, and both Arex & M'Ress get to speak. That makes it a TAS winner in my book.

A 2 for 1 vote here. My first vote saves Once Upon a Planet off the list, as despite it being a tame imitation of Shore Leave, it still has some nice fun moments.

For the next round, I vhoose Bem. I really enjoyerd how alien he was.

"Mudd's Passion" has become totally fascinating to rewatch given what SNW has developed about Spock & Chapel.

Mudd's Passion was not exactly a great episode, but it was wonderful to get to hear Roger Carmel again. Any recurrence of a true TOS guest star makes a TAS episode worthwhile, I think, so MP earns my vote because I'm grateful that Harry didn't sound like Jimmy Doohan.

I am no TAS expert (so I am utterly unqualified to decide this one like I happened to do in the TOS final) but I agree with @Poldon . The reverence that LD showed for TOS and TAS was breathtaking, and so welcome in an era when many TNG/DS9 adherents prefer to act like the series that started it all doesn't exist. (Voyager fans who prefer it over the two that came before rarely seem to have that issue, perhaps because there are so many ties, subtle and not, between TOS and VOY.) I digress, but only in service of pointing out that TAS had some truly wonderful ideas. With Tendi as a main character, I thought LD extracted every drop of high-quality lore from "Pirates," and in recognition of that lore's existence, I'm voting for it here.

Very hard choice here.

"The Pirates of Orion" was a fairly standard episode of Star Trek - a sound episode without being sparkling. It provided us with lore about the Orion and did have a strong influence on LDS.
"Mudd's Passion" was building on previous episodes of Star Trek and seemed "true" to the characters from TOS.

I liked Mudd in TOS but I am not keen on romance and lurve in my Star Trek. For that reason, my vote goes to "The Pirates of Orion"

If "Pirates Of Orion" had been last show standing, I think that would have been the first time the same episode won both a Most Disliked and a Least Disliked cycle. So close!
