The Most Disliked Episode of TAS, 2023 Edition - Season 1...

Welcome to our bi-yearly 'Most Disliked Episode' games! Now that the 'Least Disliked Episode' games hosted by BlueStuff (who inspired me to create these games, so thank you very much for paving the way) have concluded, we can begin the opposite side of that coin.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

My first save of TAS is a supremely easy one... "YESTERYEAR".

I'm probably not alone in saying this... it was the best episode of this series. Period.

I adore "The Slaver Weapon" for benching Kirk, McCoy, and Scotty, and allowing Sulu and Uhura to take the spotlight instead.

I am also a big Kzinti fan. I love all the TAS felinoid aliens.

Saving "THE TIME TRAP".

I love this one. Great concept all around.

And a lot of this episode forms the bones of VOY's "THE VOID", which is by far my favorite episode of their 7th season.

I was also going to save "The Time Trap" next, for being a better version of "The Void."

"The Survivor" packs an emotional punch for me.

The Terratin Incident is the last episode left that I remember liking on the list. The crew shrinking is another fun idea, making the most of TAS being an animation.

My last save for this season is "THE MAGICKS OF MEGAS-TU".

Kirk defending Satan? That sentence alone is worth saving the episode. It's insane... but it works.

"The Eye Of The Beholder" is OK. "Once Upon A Planet" is tedious and repetitive, and "Mudd's Passion" is more of the same vile trash that all the TOS Mudd episodes are. (I really don't connect to this character, at all)

I'll save Once Upon a Planet then. It's nowhere near as good as Shore Leave, even though it's not on of my top 10 episodes of TOS having said that. It's a little more fun than Mudd's Passion.

I quite like the character of Harry Mudd throughout TOS, with I, Mudd his peak. However, a lot of his material hasn't aged well, like Mudd's Women. Mudd's Passion was more of the same.

 

And "MUDD'S PASSION" takes the prize as winner of season 1. For the first time, I might add.

A deserved winner for being one of the few animated shows to depict an attempted potential date rape - I'm looking at you Chapel and a very awkward non-Spirk moment where Kirk and Spock become besties instead of falling in love.under Mudd's love potion. This episode is so bad its good - makes me laugh every time.
