The Most Disliked Episode of STAR TREK - Season 3...

So glad ATCSL is the "winner."

It just reinforces that I wasn't missing a damn thing growing up here in Dallas and unable to ever see this one episode till I got to college. Our local UHF station refused to air it in the '80s (due to its "children conjure evil spirits" plotting) and I always felt deprived not seeing it.

Now it's an act of deprivation to watch it!

Yes, I can't believe how horrible this episode is. I haven't seen it in two decades, yet I still remember vividly that I hated every minute of it.

And yet there is always someone on Trek BBS who loves ATCSL....
I don’t. I have a difficult time finding anything of quality in that episode.

I can't believe that someone picked Plato's Stepchildren over And The Children shall Lead???
JB

But, JB, don’t you just love scenes like this from PS?

Wow this season went by fast, I didn't even get a dog in this race. Must have been that Scaloisan water.

LOL!!

And yet they showed "The Empath", which is just a shallow excuse to show pointless gratuitous torture on screen with the flimsiest of premise?

Besides, they're kids. That's all kids ever do.

Then again, "Ouija" was Egyptian for more or less "good luck", so...

If ATCSL was in the mirror universe, would it be the best TOS episode???
Nope. Just like how Spock was a good man in the Mirror Universe, And The Children Shall Lead is the worst TOS episode in every possible universe.

There are universes in which The Way to Eden managed to nail its critique of hippie culture, in which Plato's Stepchildren featured more than a stock "absolute power corrupts absolutely" message, and in which The Paradise Syndrome didn't feature outdated racial stereotypes that ended up destroying the episode's reputation. But there is no universe in which And The Children Shall Lead is anything other than completely terrible.

Then again, there's no universe in which Spock's Brain is anything other than hilariously bad, so it's at least not alone. :p
