Okay Trek fans, "least disliked" has concluded, so now it's time for the opposite. The basic idea here is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' This Side of Paradise: It might have seemed like a wacky premise, but in fact it's a very moving story/revealing character study for Spock. The bittersweet ending is one of the best endings in TOS. Plus, there's Kirk provoking Spock into the fight.

The Conscience of the King - one of my favorites of TOS, Kirk's backstory and determination to see justice done makes this one a true stand-out. And, of course, all the Shakespearean references.

The Naked Time - space diseases will turn into a lame storytelling device later, but in this episode it was used brilliantly to reveal the depths of characters, Spock in particular. Kirk's scenes are good, too, despite some overacting.

A Taste of Armageddon: Many reasons. TOS is often accused of being sexist but seen from the perspective of the late 60s it was actually quite progressive. One small example is Yoeman Tamula (Tamura) as a security officer.
