The Most Disliked Episode of LDS, Season 4 - 2025 Edition...

Welcome to our bi-yearly 'Most Disliked Episode' games! Now that the 'Least Disliked Episode' games hosted by BlueStuff (who inspired me to create these games, so thank you very much for paving the way) have concluded, we can begin the opposite side of that coin.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

There has been a recurring thing with STAR TREK shows that I've noticed... season 4 of each series seems to be the best of that show. (With the exception of DISCO, though the ending of that season 4 is still the best one of that entire series.) And the 4th season of LOWER DECKS has certainly maintained that tradition!

What an incredible season! It's actually very difficult to choose my first save, because there were multiple 10s this year. However, one edges out because of my love of DS9... and because of how much I love a particular episode and how often I've defended it here.

"In the Cradle of Vexilon" is my first save for multiple reasons.

First, we have Boimler and T'Lyn... it was great to watch his first mission commanding an away team and he had to learn to lead, with great dialogue and advice from T'Lyn.

Second, it was great seeing Captain Freeman working on the ancient computer. That entire subplot was fun.

Third, we have the hazing by Lt. Dirk. Along with our heroes' plan of getting back at him, this was hilarious.

But my main reason for saving this one? We actually went inside the Chula game again! "MOVE ALONG HOME" has been an episode that many people have unjustly derided. I cannot tell you how THRILLED I was that it was not only referenced, but we got to watch it again with Rutherford going through each Shap. I felt so vindicated with all the times I have defended "MOVE ALONG HOME". I love these writers!

Season 4 is strong but a strong case could be made for season 2, it has the best episode in wej duj and the best finale in First First Contact. But that's a different discussion. Saving "Empathological Fallacies" because I think it's a good showcase for many characters. We see why Shaxs and his team are some of the best to ever do it, and the rapport T'Lyn and Mariner have is really really good.This takes the "being a real Vulcan" in a good direction, it's not about biology, despite the biological effect at the heart of the episode, but about her regulating her emotions and accepting herself as she is, rather than having to live up to the ideal of the people that rejected her. One of the best vulcan stories in modern Trek.

I've been trying to think which S4 episode is my least favourite as, up until now, the previous games have ended with an ep I agree isn't quite as good as the others. I don't think I can decide, though.
First, I thought "Parth Ferengi's Heart Place", but it has Rutherford in that suit! Then I thought "Empathological Fallacies", but Rutherford in his undercrackers! And then I thought maybe "I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee", but Rutherfo Moopsy!
I just don't know?

It's like TNG season 4 or DS9 season 4... there are no bad episodes. If only more seasons in the franchise were like that.
