This is a twist on a game that is played here, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, wait six hours and leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

[Farscape One]

Season 4... my favorite of this show. A fantastic season that saw multiple trilogies, which was necessary for budgetary reasons but ended up being a great shot in the arm and was an excellent storytelling method. They got to expand on some meaty stories without them overstaying their welcome. A damn shame this was the last season. It's really hard to pick a first save because so many episodes this season were great.

My first save is "IN A MIRROR, DARKLY". It was fun to see the Mirror Universe here with absolutely NO intercutting to our universe. We have a Constitution class ship back on screen. We have a Tholian web making a return. And we got to see Forrest one last time... and he is an honorable man in any universe. He sacrificed himself to give his crew a fighting chance to live. Plus you can tell everyone was enjoying themselves a LOT here.

But my favorite thing is that they got rid of that damned theme song and replaced it! I loved it!

[Hopeful Romantic]

I'll save "Observer Effect." It's my favorite episode of the series - I love the echoes of "Errand of Mercy," and the frantic efforts to save Hoshi were gripping. Archer watching over Trip as he breathed his last, Archer's plea for the Organians to embrace compassion and mercy... it was quite an emotional watch for me, and every time since.

[Seven of Five]

The Forge arc is my favourite in season 4, so I'll save The Forge. It kick-starts the trilogy with a blast, and Admiral Forrest saving Soval is a bittersweet moment. Soval also goes on about kicking ass in these episodes.

I'll follow The Forge up with saving AWAKENING. I REALLY like this 3 parter. While Brent Spiner is excellent, and Eugenics Wars holdovers are a cool premise, I can't stand "The Augments Trilogy". Meanwhile, when the show does multiple 3 parters in a single season, this is one of the deepest looks we've ever gotten into the structure of Vulcan beliefs and lives. We get plausable reasons for why the Vulcans in season 1 ENT are arrogant dicks, but by TNG, are more logic centered without all the ridiculousness.

Saving "BABEL ONE", I get a kick out of (I almost said Weyoun) Shran shouting "Tellarite swine! "because it's basically true, they are swine. I mean if swine evolved toward a humanoid form they'd definitely look like tellarites.

Saving "UNITED". I enjoyed that with this and "BABEL ONE" we were finally seeing some events that led to the founding of The Federation; and liked the final exterior "pull back/fleet shot" shot of the NX-01 in formation with the various ships of the other races.

For the same reasons as the first part (except for Forrest, who doesn't appear in this part obviously), I save part 2. And it was a kick seeing Hoshi... I mean, Empress Sato... end up as the big boss.

And did I mention that I was thrilled they got rid of that damned theme song and replaced it!

I love "THE AENAR" because it gives us an insight into the Andorian culture and it's beautifully filmed and it's an interesting concept, except the bore worms... I mean.. how the hell do they get back up?

Time to save the third part of the greatest 3 parter in Trek. KIR'SHARA. The payoff to Archer becoming a better person through the consciousness of a thousands of years dead Vulcan version of Budha, and the beginning of the end for rigid Vulcan "logic" thought over so much that it's used to justify basically anything.

Cold Station 12 is probably my favourite episode from the Augment trilogy, as Soong attacks the station to free the cryogenically frozen Augments.

Phlox's friend Dr. Lucas was a nice touch as well. We'd heard about him before, so it added personal stakes to the crisis.

I also think Affliction/Divergence is stronger than the general fan consensus seems to hold. It's ridiculous -- but ridiculous in the right way. The execution in this two-parter is awesome. I'll save "Affliction."

Time to start saving Man in the High Castle, since the rest of what's left ain't great. STORM FRONT, PART II, breaks the mold wherein often the first part is better than the second, in Trek. Here the action and the motions more interesting than Part 1 where you're just left constantly asking why we're here? By Part II we can sit back and just try to enjoy a Nazi's in Trek that's much better than The Killing Game.

"DAEDALUS" is shameless pilfering of TOS' "The Ultimate Computer" but it's got some interesting drama and is well-acted by the guest stars. It puts it, IMO, on top of the current list.
