The Most Disliked Episode of DISCO, Season 4 - 2025 Edition...

Welcome to our bi-yearly 'Most Disliked Episode' games! Now that the 'Least Disliked Episode' games hosted by BlueStuff (who inspired me to create these games, so thank you very much for paving the way) have concluded, we can begin the opposite side of that coin.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

Season Four... there are small scenes that are good and the start was okay, but SO MUCH of the middle just meanders or was just straight up bad. This season could have done its arc in 6 episodes, maybe even 5. Should have done 2 or 3 arcs this season... it certainly would have flowed MUCH better. It's such a meh season, but it's the ONLY one where they actually mostly stuck the landing. (Unfortunately, it broke the streak of shows in the franchise whose 4th season is them at their best... another reason why this series is dead last on my list shows in the franchise.)

Having said all that, my first save is "Species Ten-C". I love that they were just trying to figure out the language of that species. Really great one this season.

Im going to save Choose to Live. I enjoy the qowat milat and the overal plot of this episode feels very star trek-y.

I'm going to truly struggle to save any more episodes after this one... saving "Anomaly".

It was still very early in the season, and the mystery was still pretty good. (Despite the fact the second episode of ENT's third season was titled "ANOMALY" also. The writers couldn't find a synonym for it, or at least call this one "The Anomaly"? This broke the huge streak of the franchise not having two titles from different shows be exactly the same.)

I love Season 4! The only issue was it should have cut out some of the fat and been a 10 episode season!

I thought that Kobayashi Maru was an excellent start.

I liked how the President was a bit stand offish with Burnham at first.

I have been struggling for hours trying to figure out which one to save next. Except for two episodes that I actively dislike, they all blur together because of how much the season dragged itself.

I guess I'll save "The Examples".

I can... recall it somewhat more than the others. At this point, that's about the best thing I can say about these episodes.

That's funny, "The Examples" to me is the clear dog of an otherwise fantastic season.

That infuriating character in the prison! God he was annoying. My family and I were yelling at the TV.

And I still can't believe they did this entire episode about prisoners and redemption, never once bringing Burnham's own past into it, as someone who was once sentenced to life imprisonment, and then saved the entire universe 6 or 7 times after she was granted clemency.

I'll do "All Is Possible." Great write-out for Tilly.

...But to Connect is another great example of trying to make peaceful contact the forefront of Burnham and Starfleet's mission.

Think the whole making contact with Species Ten-C arc was classic Star Trek.

I hated "Rubicon" because Saru ended up having to be a babysitter in two scenes... the shuttle and with Burnham and Nhan. This illustrated so much why I just couldn't take these people seriously as professionals.

So I am now left with one that I actively disliked and two others that I barely recall.

I'll save "Stormy Weather" because Frakes directed it.

Ill save The Galactic Barrier as it was fun seeing the crew cross the barrier.

And "All In" was a good bet, because it has won Most Disliked of this season.

Interestingly, this result is the exact opposite of the 2023 game: "The Galactic Barrier" was the winner with "All In" being the runner up.
