Game The Most Disliked Episode Directed By Winrich Kolbe

VOY Season 5: "The Fight" because it's so bad it's actually funny and I'd rather laugh than cry, which is the reaction some of what's left on the list elicits.

TNG Season 2: "Pen Pals"
TNG Season 3: "The Bonding"
TNG Season 3: "Allegiance"
TNG Season 4: "Identity Crisis"
TNG Season 5: "The Masterpiece Society"
TNG Season 6: "Man Of The People"
TNG Season 6: "Rightful Heir"
DS9 Season 1: "Past Prologue"

Past Prologue is a pretty good episode of DS9. The best bit by far was the introduction of plain, simple Garak. And whilst I liked the Duras Sisters on TNG, their introduction here on DS9's second episode was a bit much.

TNG Season 2: "Pen Pals"
TNG Season 3: "The Bonding"
TNG Season 3: "Allegiance"
TNG Season 4: "Identity Crisis"
TNG Season 5: "The Masterpiece Society"
TNG Season 6: "Man Of The People"
TNG Season 6: "Rightful Heir"

TNG: "Pen Pals" is next to go and only because of Sarjenka. I loved her scruffy, sparkly appearance, although her long fingers were a tad creepy.

TNG Season 3: "The Bonding"
TNG Season 3: "Allegiance"
TNG Season 4: "Identity Crisis"
TNG Season 5: "The Masterpiece Society"
TNG Season 6: "Man Of The People"
TNG Season 6: "Rightful Heir"

Saving "Rightful Heir".

Because it focuses on Worf's spiritual and religious beliefs. I actually like watching episodes that center on this.

(I know the irony is huge... I am not religious or spiritual in the slightest, yet those episodes that do that with characters, I find very interesting. My wife, who is religious, ironically does not like them, particularly Klingon or Bajoran ones. This baffles me.)

TNG Season 3: "The Bonding"
TNG Season 3: "Allegiance"
TNG Season 4: "Identity Crisis"
TNG Season 5: "The Masterpiece Society"

The part I always find so crazy in "The Bonding" is Picard saying "Jeremy, on the starship Enterprise, no one is alone" -- and then they immediately leave him alone! It's a jump from Picard's reassurance to Jeremy alone in his quarters, watching videos of his dead mom. Jarring!

Saving "Allegiance." I love the dynamics between Picard and the other captives. I'd say "bring back the Chalnoth!", if I wasn't so certain the current incompetent makeup team would fuck up the redesign.

TNG Season 4: "Identity Crisis"
TNG Season 5: "The Masterpiece Society"

The sad part of that episode is the idea is pretty good, but they focused entirely on the wrong dynamics. Instead of the Troi romance part, dial in on the conversation Geordi had with Bates about his visor and how he wouldn't have even been born on that colony. I think the real meat of the story was there, and it would have led to some great scenes.

But instead we got... what we got.

Oh boy....I came way too late to this party.

I'll save "Galaxy's Child." Shoot me, I like it.

I do as well, aside from the "Creepy Geordi" bits. Talk about character assassination...

I really did like the "space whale" part of the plot.

Man Of The People" is fun. I relish any chance Marina Sirtis gets to act crazy or nasty.

And it gave Picard one hell of a dilemma... allow the death of one friend to stop a war and save thousands of faceless strangers... or save the friend but risk allowing the war to go on?

TNG Season 3: "The Bonding" because the bond between Worf and Jeremy is kind of endearing, even if the kid was never mentioned or seen ever again.

That's why I rate this one so low.

The Masterpiece Society" wins.

Another worthy loser!

"The Masterpiece Society" is one I haven't fully rewatched since the 90's. I've tried, but I always fall asleep halfway through...

The next one will go up later today, and will be a bit of an experiment -- three mini-games in one thread (played consecutively, we're not gonna try to track three simultaneous games ) "The Most Disliked Episode: 47's Edition!"

Never considered 'the Masterpiece society' to be particularly bad, but unsurprising it is, and therefore it has few saving graces, and so I'm not really surprised it ends up as the 'most disliked' episode.

Only the third win for TNG this round, they're doing pretty well. Tied with three wins for "Picard."

The 2020 winner of this game was from Voyager: "Elogium."

As mentioned, the next one is going up now: "The Most Disliked Episode: 47's Edition" Three mini-games in one thread. Thanks for playing all, hope to see you on the next one!
