Game The Most Disliked Comedic/Light-Hearted Episode

I must say I was almost tempted to eliminate it at an earlier stage, just to get a more interesting final pick.

But I suppose that would be a form of 'tactical voting' too, and therefore not allowed :)

Yes, that is tactical voting.

If I had my way, NO DS9 episode would 'win' these contests. But that would be dishonest, because I really do think "PROFIT AND LACE" is possibly the worst one in the franchise.

Correct! That is the definition of tactical voting. :bolian:

I also generally prefer not to see DS9 win, but I am happy to make an exception for "Profit & Lace." The only positive thing I ever have to say about it is "the actors really tried!" I suppose the costume department also did some nice work. But the writers, jesus christ. Ira Steven Behr has some obnoxious quotes from over the years, but the worst might be when he blames the failure of this one on the acting and the directing. Give me a fucking break. The appropriate response would have been to buy them extravagant apology gifts for forcing them to produce this offensive trash script.

"Profit & Lace" is the first double-winner of 2022, having also taken the Ferengi episode title.

"Spirit Folk" won this game in 2020.

Next up: "The Most Disliked Cardassian Episode." Going up later today or Friday. Thanks for playing all, hope to see you on the next one!

They were holo-candles, as shown in some episode of Discovery.:bolian:

*pouts* Shucks! And given GEN does a lot with little explanation, I'll buy her quarters being equipped with holo-emitters. Or are artificial in any other way.

I still think it'd be amusing if the suppression system existed and they all keep going out and then Guinan lights 'em all back up - rinse and repeat. Of course, that would end up being a sketch meme worthy of 1968's "Laugh-In"... It'd be funnier than all of Data's jokes in that movie combined with all of "Okona" combined...

I think we see a de-Cardassian-ized Gul Dukat, too.

We do, which was why I was wondering about it (and then I realised we actually get to see him as a Cardassian too, however briefly).

Not that it matters much ; I expect that if the episode were in that most disliked list, it would be eliminated fairly soon anyway.

To be perfectly honest I consider "Mud's Women" to be a much worse episode than "Profit and Lace", in fact I think it was the worst episode on the list, and possibly in Star Trek.
But Profit and Lace is awful too.
