Saving Et in Arcadia, Ego 2

A problematic episoide, but the appearance of Brent Spiner as Data was extra special, making the episode something that requires all ST fans view. It also tied together many threads from the past ENG based adventures.

Does Unification I really count? As far as I remember, Spock only appears on the very last shot.

Oh, definitely. He's there, so it counts. Also, that cliffhanger entrance is the high point for me! I've watched just the end of "Unfiication I" a billion times. I haven't watched any part of "Unification II" nearly as much.
Also same deal with Seven in "Absolute Candor", she just shows up at the last minute.
:bolian:

Saving "Stardust City Rag"

It was a fun caper episode that also explains Seven's current behaviors. Good storyline for her, and great interaction with Picard at the end.

I'll save the 2009 Star Trek, as I thought it used Nimoy's Spock very well (unlike the sequel, where he just had a cheap, unnecessary cameo - I hate that that was the very last time Nimoy played Spock onscreen. He would've been much better served going out with the 2009 film).

I'll go for Unification II, purely because it's one of the times when the writers took a conscious decision to name the second part as a sequel, as opposed to a second part. :p

In all seriousness (whatever that is), Spock is so good here. I love his scene with Data about them both deciding to, essentially, abandon what the other was seeking in life.

Unification is such a wonderful concept for Spock to be seeking. I loved that this was filmed at the same time they were doing TUC, which was all about the building of bridges towards the Klingons. Him being at the centre of such grand gestures is great for his character.

It's ultimately a shame about Sela not working out as an adversary, with this episode showing her limits. Maybe a rewrite could have had a better ending, making her a little more ominous?

Several of these are calling to me, but I'll go with "Absolute Candor."
3rd best ep of "Picard", after the already saved "Nepenthe" and "Remembrance." The Romulan world building in this is wildly good. The execution of the cast crossover is actually my one nitpick... the relentlessness with which they refer to the pilot as "he" before they beam Seven over is ridiculous, you immediately feel the pressure to suspect a male so we'll all be just SHOCKED when it's Seven, despite the fact that she was in the opening credits. No one was able to talk Jeri Ryan into the single-card in the end titles to preserve the surprise?

Agreed on you with Seven's 'surprise' appearance. From that point on I skipped the credits from that episode on to avoid seeing anything I didn't want to.

Picking up "Broken Pieces". No spoilers needed... I just thought it was a great episode. It all worked for me.

I myself wouldn't really count those enterprise episodes as crossovers, because the regular cast member of another series plays a different character there (I would have counted Acquisition as crossover if Philips had played Neelix. The Arik Soong episodes are somewhat debatable). But I suppose that's a matter of definition of crossover.

I'lll save "Flashback" for now. Even though the plot, considered at face value isn't that strong or compelling, it's still fun to see Janeway roaming about a 23rd century ship, commiserating about how she would have measured up, how well she would have fitted in, had she lived in "the olden times".

Yeah, that's why I ended up referring to it as a Cast Crossover, rather than a Character Crossover. My initial thought was only regular characters, but there were so many that weren't EXACTLY the regular characters, but were one Trek-gimmick adjacent (Mirror Tuvok, Alternate LaForge, Thomas Riker, Dr. Zimmerman, Enterprise E EMH, Colonel Worf, the Soong's). I really saw no logical way to draw a line between which of those would belong and which wouldn't, I thought it was more fun and more logical with most of them included, and they are all examples of consciously choosing to involve one of the stars from elsewhere in your franchise, so I thought -- just call it a Cast Crossover and put every character on.

The only two that felt truly iffy to me were "Acquisition" and "Oasis", but I'm confident even those had an intentional meta-level choice to the casting. That Ferengi role resonates with Neelix, and they were building in a returning-actor draw, with the other two Ferengi being Clint Howard and Jeffrey Combs. And "Oasis" invokes the previous Trek episode where Auberjonois played the opposite role in the same exact story.

Writing that made me feel so favorably towards "Acquisition" that I'm tempted to save it now, BUT I cannot deny that honestly, I find "Unification I" a far superior episode, so I must exhibit Game Integrity and save that. :bolian::biggrin: I have saved "Unification I" a few times and sung the praises of my most favorite aspects of it, so just to find something new that I haven't previously complimented, I also love the sequence with Sarek. What a powerful final appearance.

Saving DS9 “Through The Looking Glass”. Tuvok is such a blink or you’ll miss it appearance that I usually forget he’s even in it. But it’s a fun episode, before DS9’s mirror universe episodes started to get tiresome. It’s always fun seeing the characters inhabit a more Star Wars-esque universe and Nana Visitor just kills it as the Intendant.

I'll save Life Line. Troi being here again was a little gratuitous, but I love the episode. Picardo is wonderful here.

I like it much more than Inside Man.

And I guess now I'll save "Acquisition", which is filled with fun ideas, though it fumbles all of them to varying degree. But it is at least one of the few Enterprise episodes I find powerfully memorable! Most of that show blanded into such a wall of bla-ness for me. Not "Acquisition"! This episode is DISTINCT from start to finish.

VOY, Season 7: “Inside Man” (Troi)

I'll save "Inside Man," mainly for Barclay and Troi and the continuity from "Pathfinder." Okay, pretty much all for Barclay.

...okay, totally for Barclay.

TNG Feature: “Star Trek Nemesis” (Admiral Janeway)
ENT, Season 4: “Cold Station 12” (Arik Soong)

I think I totally know which one is gonna win this ...
Yeah, I've had a side bet on this one since I first saw the list....

I'll save "COLD STATION 12" next.

You see Arik Soong start to see what is going wrong with his children here. Brent Spiner really sold his role here and thevrest of the trilogy.

(And as soon as I saw the list, I know in my heart which one will 'win' this game.)

TNG Feature: “Star Trek Nemesis” (Admiral Janeway)
ENT, Season 4: “The Augments” (Arik Soong)
ENT, Season 4: “These Are The Voyages…” (Riker, Troi)

I'll finish up the Augments trilogy with "The Augments" -- I actually think this is the best of the Enterprise three-parters, though maybe only because Babel/United/Aenar was built up too much before I saw it.

TNG Feature: “Star Trek Nemesis” (Admiral Janeway)
ENT, Season 4: “These Are The Voyages…” (Riker, Troi)
PIC, Season 1: "Et In Arcadia Ego, Part 1" [spoiler tag your elimination reasons]

saving Star Trek Nemesis. And I would have done so far earlier if I had seen this contest underway yesterday. I think it's a much better film than most give credit for, and it's enhanced by the existence of Star Trek:Picard.

ENT, Season 4: “These Are The Voyages…” (Riker, Troi)
PIC, Season 1: "Et In Arcadia Ego, Part 1" [spoiler tag your elimination reasons]

You know it's not really a choice. These Are The Voyages was a travesty of an ending for ENT. It was all about Riker and Troi, with a story that was shoehorned into The Pegasus that didn't really fit.

The death of Trip was poorly executed, and it seems like the ENT crew didn't advance in rank or relationships in the time between Terra Prime and TATV.

Of course, after Trip gives his life to help Archer, we don't even get to hear the big speech he's going to make.

TATV was a poorly executed mess. Oh dear.

I won't go into spoiler details on PIC, but the episode in question was a total letdown after a very solid season up to then. Good job it was rectified in part two.

I just don't remember my eyes bleeding as I watched. :D :D :D
