Game The Most Disliked Cardassian Episode

"Profit & Loss" is great -- hey, in Natima we have YET ANOTHER awesome one-off female Cardassian that could have recurred!

Funny this is only the third appearance of Garak, and they clearly haven't figured him out yet... the way he's used in the political machinations in this one doesn't quite track with the rest of his story. Next appearance was "The Wire", that's what they seemed to get a firm handle on him.

That leaves a suitably awful final twosome...

TNG Season 7: "Journey's End"
VOY Season 2: "Investigations"

Saving Journey's End. It's not very good, but Investigations is so much worse. Neelix is as annoying as ever and the plot is so contrived.

Which leaves us with: VOY Season 2: "Investigations"

Yep, episodes where the primary antagonist was Cardassian seemed to qualify to me, so anything where the central conflict was some version of "Our Heroes Vs. Seska" went on the list.

I find "Investigations" a worthy winner. What a dreadful waste of potential! Seska was such a fascinating character, and to have her trapped in dumb schemes like this, ugh. Though, "Basics", which I love, was also a dumb scheme, but it works and is fun because they execute it the right way (absurdly heightened, yet ultra-committed).

By contrast, "Investigations" is so DRAB. I want it to be fun, but it is not!

And what incompetent serialization the Jonas arc was. All those weird tacked-on scenes in the prior episodes, existing completely in their own bubbles.

The Cardassian's really are EXCEPTIONAL aliens. It's crazy how many of the episodes on this list were just fantastic! And telling that the winner is an episode particularly weighed down by lousy non-Cardassian elements.

Anyway, as usual, thanks everyone for playing! I love reading your thoughts.

I am excited for what's up next, even though it was somewhat skeptically received last year: "THE MOST DISLIKED HOLIDAY EPISODE!"

Hope to see you all there!

I was rooting for this to win. What a way to end the promising arc that had developed.

Like the Romulan list, it was another one full of good and great episodes, and just a small amount of middling or even poor ones.

Yeah it had to be one of the Voyager episodes, since they had little very little Cardassian content and
Seska
was the incarnation of wasted potential.
Though I assumed "Wrongs Darker than Death or Night" would be a strong contender, since it handled a very difficult subject in a relatively harmless manner (because 90s television) and got a lot of criticism due to that, if I remember correctly.
